  • my flight from Bristol to Newcastle was cancelled on Tuesday - Easyjet wont allow compensation as they say that this was due to the French ATC strike. Given that neither Bristol, nor Newcastle, are anywhere near French airspace, i dont accept this and claim that that should have planned their schedules not to mix European and Domestic flight as they were aware of the impending strike action.

How can i progress this with them

On the Monarch Complaints Facebook Page Martin Lewis is looking for contributors to his series 4 programme featuring airline delays. This does not have to be a Monarch delay but here is the link to the page .....

Hello, just after some information. My son has just arrived back from Majorca on ZB535. He was due to land in Manchester at 2230 on Saturday 28 June but the aeroplane had technical problems and they finally returned at 1735hrs on Sunday 29 June. How do I find out what the technical problems were so I can include it in a letter to seek compensation. My son was with his girlfriend and as it was their first holiday on their own isn't as clued up as to who to speak to, if in fact there was anybody to speak to!

    Thanks!

Your son needs to fill in the Monarch claim forms - but he doesn't need to know the details of the reason for the delay. Have a look at the Facebook page "Monarch Complaints" for a bit of help - or the FAQs on page one here.

There was a very confusing article about flight delay compensation this last Sunday on page 2.
They seemed to suggest vouchers were satisfactory compensation plus they were telling readers to claim if they had a delay of five hours.
Most unusual for the Sunday Times to get things so wrong.
I emailed them to try to put them back on track.

Personally, I would have asked for the cash that the law says iam entitled to.
  • Hi , can anyone give me any advice what to do next.
We had a 7 hr delay from greece a few weeks ago.I used Martin Lewis template to claim compensation from Thomson and have now received a letter stating that the we are not going to get a penny compensation.Anyone else trying to claim flying out of Kos on the 11th June 2014 TOM2309.I am going to reply back to Thomson disputing the response i got and have said that i would wait for a response before i take it to the CAA.
Their reason why we were delayed to what the Captain told us was completely different.
Is there anything else anyone can advice on what to say or do next.
    Thanks
(first time on Forum so appologises if no done correctly)

If you believe that you have a claim, read up on the court process. (you will also see that there is no benefit in going to the UK CAA as they only cover flights departing the UK and even then they have not proved to be helpful - eg they can find in your favour but cannot force the airline to pay up) you would need to go to "Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority"
you will also find the link to the Thomson thread
