Can anyone tell me if the compensation available applies to domestic flights? I have read all the info but it just says EU flights. We were recently delayed 4hrs and 5 mins from Belfast City to Southampton and I would like to know if I can claim on this.
Thanks0 -

Only up to a point - the airlines change their stories all the time. Their credibility in court will be determined primarily by what they put in their defence and subsequent submissions. But post-Huzar you don't need to win on "credibility" as neither excuse offered is a reason to deny you compensation.0 -
So there were 13 of us that were delayed for over 4 hours in September 2008. I wrote to First Choice with the flight number etc but cannot find my booking reference number as it was over 5 years ago.
They have written back to me saying they can only go back 2 years. I have written to them again saying I believe this to be incorrect and I will be taking the matter up with the CAA.
Again they have written to me still saying the same thing and wont budge.
Unfortunately, the CAA have also emailed me to say that as the flight was 5 1/2 years ago, they are not willing to look at my complaint as they have a massive back log and by the time they get round to looking at it, 6 years will have elapsed.
Is there anything more I can do with no booking reference or boarding passes?0 -
Hi all,
does anyone have any experience with Adria Airways or the Slovenian regulator?
If so, can you post to the Flight delay compensation, all other EU airlines thread?0 -
I have a question,
last year myself a 4 friends booked a holiday directly with olympic holidays over the phone.
we were due to fly from birmingham to skiathos on a friday flight approx 11.30am, when we arrived at birmingham no one was to be found to check-in etc.
finally we were told we would be going to gatwick via coaches and put up at a hotel and given a nice meal and then breakfast the following morning.
we got told we would fly between 7am and 11 am. we finally boarded at 12 noon and took off at 12.15. So a full 24 hours delay.
whilst at the hotel we were given an apology letter from olympic holiday which was dated the previous day (thursday) and this was backed up by confirmation by the hotel manager who confirmed the rooms were booked the previous day.
my question is who do i claim my compensation from, olympic holidays whom my holiday contract is with or the 3rd party who i believe from memory was a lithuanian airline "small planet" they used to fly us on?
to me i should get my 400 euro compensation from olympic holiday who then claim their compensation from small planet. but is this correct?0 -
I sent off a claim to Aer Lingus back in 2008 for a flight which was delayed over 4 hours going to Cork in Ireland. When I heard nothing back from them I sent another letter three months later. When they did not reply to that either I sent a letter to the Air Transport Users Council.
When the ATUC contacted Aer Lingus they finally got back to me and eventually sent me 75 euros in compensation for the three of us who were delayed.
As EU law now says that I should have been entitled to 250 euros per person can I now claim the difference?0 -
Hello,
I've recently returned from a holiday where I was delayed 4 hours in Manchester and 11 hours in Rhodes. I booked with Olympic holidays and flew with Germania. Has anyone got any experience with claims against this airline? Do they have to be put in the post? Or can I use the airlines e-mail?
Thanks for any help.0 -
I put a claim in sometime ago and was told it was exceptional cercumstances. so i let it go and didnt keep the paper work including flight numbers and dates. is there any way i can now find these details.0

Hi
We got delayed at Bristol airport last week. I believe that the delay was due to a fire in the airport, so therefore the delay is not the fault of the airline - we were delayed for over 2.5 hours, and at 4am - it wasn't much fun!!
As we were only going away for the weekend, the delay meant that we missed most of our first day away!
I was wondering if there was any sort of compensation for our delay? We weren't delayed by more than 3 hours (only just under), so we can't claim from the airline, but also, it wasn't their fault!
Thanks:j0
