After seeing Watch Dog, I remembered about a flight we had in 2007. Ive looked it up and it was a BA flight from new york to London.
BA 174 on 23/02/2007.
I remember it as a horrible delay, but not sure if it was over 3 hours. Ive looked over the forums and advise and flightstats - but i can't figure out how I can check how late is was.
Can anyone help? I just cant find it.
Any help would be really appreciated.
It shows 103 minutes late on flightstats...even if it did qualify for compensation (which it doesn't) you are out of time to take them to court (6 years, as per the FAQs)0 -
Thanyou very much. That was very kind of you to look it up for us. I really tried and tried to find out how to search on flightstats, but just couldnt find how - maybe i'm blind?!?!
Thanks again!0 -
Has anyone actually got any compensation from any airline, I've just had mine turned down by Virgin after a 10 hour delay saying it was a technical problem and there for was not their fault!!!!!0

Does anyone have an email address for Germanwings please?
I wrote to them in Cologne nearly 5 weeks ago and haven't received a reply as yet.0 -

Can anyone please tell me the postal address to use for requesting delay compensation from Cathay Pacific?
I can see a Hong Kong address on their website but the only UK address I can find is:
Ticket Desk, Area B, Terminal 3 Departures, Heathrow Airport.
Is that the address I need to use.
Our flight was delayed 5 1/2 hours from heathrow to hong kong in dec 2007 so need to act fast as it's close to the 6 year limitation period.

Hello everyone,
Thanks to MoneysavingExpert.com, my partner and I have successfully claimed flight delay compensation from Thomas Cook. Given the advice on the site, we thought it was only right to report our success so it may help others, especially those that were on our flight.
We were delayed for 26 hours on a flight back from Holguin, Cuba to Manchester. Our flight details are as follows:
26 September 2012 - Holguin-Fran Pais International Airport to Manchester Airport - TCX245.
Basically, we submitted a claim for compensation in February this year via Thomas Cook's website. They replied stating that our flight delay was due to an extraordinary fault and therefore we were not entitled to compensation. Following this we wrote again to Thomas Cook requesting the details of the extraordinary fault. They replied again stating after a further review, we were not entitled to compensation.
We then wrote to the Civil Aviation Authority requesting that they investigate our claim. We received a response from them in July stating that it appeared that our flight fell within the scope of regulation EC261/2004 and that new guidance was about to be published regarding what constituted extraordinary circumstances. They had passed our complaint back to Thomas Cook to be reassessed.
I hadn't heard anything for a while so I chased Thomas Cook, again via their website a couple of weeks ago. They confirmed that we were entitled to compensation and offered vouchers. As this website states, you are entitled to monetary compensation and you do not have to accept vouchers. We wrote back to Thomas Cook, basically stating that we wanted money. They did not respond and so I telephoned their customer services. They were very apologetic and offered to transfer the money (£516 each) into my bank account! Hopefully, I will receive this within 10 days.
We used the templates on this website during our claim. I think persistence paid off in our case!
Good luck to everyone else claiming!0 -
We are thinking of making a claim for two delayed flights back in May and June of 2010. One was outbound to Mexico and the other was inbound to Gatwick. Six and four hours respectively. We do not have boarding passes , how do we get proof of check in?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just been offered £100 in vouchers by Thomas Cook in compensation, our flight was supposed to be 10:45am from Mahon to Manchester but the plane they sent from the UK was smaller than the original so 80 of us had to wait 8 hours for an alternative flight that took us to Stansted then we were bussed to Manchester arriving at 1:20am (15 hours roughly)
I don't thin what they've offered is enough & I certainly don't want to fly with them again, can I refuse their offer?0
