HI quick question - is it best to issue an NBA letter by post or is an email sufficient?

Strictly speaking it should be snail mail (to the Company Secretary, c/o Customer Services) but in practice email seems to be fine: in all my time on this forum I have never seen an airline cry foul at not being given "proper" notice. Frankly, they all seem to expect it ...0

Hi all
I have put in a complaint to Qatar for a delay of over 24 hours nearly 2 years ago on a flight from LHR to TVR in India. They took several months to respond but in July they replied quoting extraordinary circumstances of a technical issue of FCMC identified on the plane prior to it's take off from Paris - the plane was then due to go to Doha and then back to London for our flight 2 days after the technical issue was identified!
From my research I think the extraordinary circumstances (if the issue with the FCMC can count as such) has to take place on the actual flight or immediately prior to it and I am sure there was a regulation or case which supported this which I cannot find now.
I would also like people's views on whether I should bother going to the CAA or go straight to small claims and if there is any template letter before action specifically for these cases.
Any suggestions most appreciated.Grocery Challenge Jan 2015 £188.52/£180

Dear Martin,
My family and myself were delayed by 5 hours on a Return British Airways flight from Rome in April 2012 due to Gatwick being shut down after a plane made an emergency landing.
We were given vouchers etc for food while we waited.
I was just wondering whether the delay would fall into the Able to or Not able to Claim camp.

I would guess that the closure of the airport was outwith BAs control so it would fall into the not able to claim pile0

Gino66, do you think a District Judge in the County Court would agree that the circumstances were extraordinary?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Hi guys,
After seeing Watch Dog, I remembered about a flight we had in 2007. Ive looked it up and it was a BA flight from new york to London.
BA 174 on 23/02/2007.
I remember it as a horrible delay, but not sure if it was over 3 hours. Ive looked over the forums and advise and flightstats - but i can't figure out how I can check how late is was.
Can anyone help? I just cant find it.
Any help would be really appreciated.0
