in september 2007 my husband and i were delayed flying home from a package holiday in croatia. the holiday was booked online with thomson but the flight was provided by monarch. the delay was just under 5.5 hrs, it was known about before we even left the resort but got progressively longer as the day went on, the plane we were supposed to be flying home on had been delayed earlier in the day and kept falling behind as a result, the plane we eventually came home on was a different one that had to detour from one uk airport to another before coming to get us as the delays had caused the original flight crew to go over their working hours so another flight crew had to be found to get us home. we were provided with a sandwich, biscuit and drink by way of compensation but nothing futher, not even a comfortable seat (in short supply in pula airport!) despite the fact i was 6 months pregnant at the time. unfortunately as the holiday was taken so long ago i dont have any correspondance or ticket/boarding pass stubs. can i still put in a claim or do i need more information?0

We have tried to make a claim against Thomas cook for a 6 hour flight delay from Kefalonia to London Gatwick in May last year, seems the airline are using 'Exceptional circumstances' but with no explanation as to what this entails, as their tactic from having to pay any compensation, I'm not giving up yet !0

Hi all,
Does this include future flights?
My flight is from Algiers-Frankfurt-Manchester. In the original booking, the waiting time in Frankfurt is only 45 minutes which is really convenient for me as I have kids. Now because the flight from Algiers to Frankfurt was delayed by 10 minutes, Lufthansa are saying that 35 minutes is not enough to make it to the next flight and they booked me in the next flight which is 6 hours later.
The only reason I booked it with Lufthansa was the short waiting time to connect to the other flight and the price.
Any suggestions :question:0 -

You need only prove on the balance of probability (i.e. 51%) that you were on that flight, so do searches in your email for 'croatia' and 'thomson' and 'monarch' and see what comes up. Check credit card and bank statements for 'thomson'. Find evidence of spending any money in croatia at that time. Get an email from the hotel confirming your stay there. You'll be at the required 51% level of proof required in no time.0 -
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if I have a claim. I was on a flight 2009 leaving from new york to london. It was delayed for 6 hours (we sat on the plane for 6 hrs until it departed!). It was with Kuwait Airways so would this mean I cant claim?
Thanks0 -
Just about to lodge a complaint with Blue Panorama for the second time. I actually contacted them back in 2007 when my delay (15 hours, overnight, with no travel or accommodation offered - and we couldn't opt to just take any as we were never told when our flight would be taking off! Just abandoned in the airport) occurred. They didn't respond. I contacted the CAA who (despite being told that I'd contacted the airline fruitlessly) told me to... contact the airline direct.
My question is, my journey was a short one (Rome to Nice), but I was delayed overnight with - as I stated - no offer of accommodation, and for approximately 15 hours. By the time we realised we'd been abandoned in the airport, there was no transport available. Also nobody to talk to, query or anything. The place was literally in shutdown until a grumpy man on a cart dropped a few boxes of bottled water at our feet around 5am.
So... can I claim for lack of accommodation, discomfort and so forth? As I said, I reported this to the CAA back in the day but their response seemed along the lines of "meh."0 -
Do not give up hope! I started claiming last October for a 10 hour delayed flight I had in 2009 from Turkey to Manchester with Thomas Cook after lots of letters and them claiming I wasnt entitled to anything i received this week a cheque for £1051.00!!! They did try and send me a holiday voucher but I refused this and asked for a cheque! Dont let them put you off claiming with their excuses!! :j0

I have just had the same response from Thomas Cook for a delay of over 8 hours to Orlando. Seems like they have a fairly standard response to these types of delays. Time to push a little harder.0 -
Hiya,
We are claiming via First Choice for a 4 hour delay back in nov 2010! We were originally advised that the flight was delayed due to the plane being diverted. First choice have written to me today claiming extraordinary circumstances! The plane was diverted on the previous journey due to a disruptive passenger! Can this be classed as extraordinary circumstances.....?! Spoken to first choice, they won't budge and CAA have advised me to write into them!
Would appreciate any thoughts or advise in this circumstance?
Thank you.0 -
I keep thinking of trying this but have been put of by a couple of things. I have only had two flight delays/cancellations that I can remember. One of them was to Dom Rep so I am confused if I can claim for this because it is out the EU. Also having trouble finding any info about this on Flight Stats and can't remember the length of delay.
The other was a flight which was cancelled from Barcelona to Liverpool back in Jan 2010 due to snow. Flight was cancelled. We were moved on to a later flight to Bristol. Got back to Bristol and it was to late to coach us back up to Liverpool so we were put up in a hotel for the night. Guessing I won't get anywhere with this one.
Going to have a read through the topic but in the meantime is there another website similar to flight stats where I may be able to find more info?0
