Hi guys, I was hoping for a little advice.
Are you still entitled to the compensation if you were advised of the delay whilst still at your hotel? We were told our flight was delayed by 6 hours whilst still at our all-inclusive hotel, so were able to stay for an extra 6 hours with all drinks and food obviously included. Is the compensation only available if you had to wait at the airport for that time?
    Thanks all.

Hi guys. A few pages back, someone mentioned that there were now airline-specific threads. I can't seem to find them. Sorry for the dumb post. Can someone direct me to Monarch please...
  • Hi I am posting on behalf of my daughter. She booked a flight to Bangkok from Birmingham for 10/12/12. She has had some correspondence from KLM but all they are offering is a goodwill gesture of a total of £41 for two pax.
The 1st leg of the journey was originally delayed due to technical reasons, they eventually took off at approx 12.30pm instead of 9.15am landing at Schipol airport too late to catch the second leg of their flight (booked on the same ticket)They then had a long wait in Schipol for the next flight approx 2hrs 30 mins late , therefore their overall landing at Bangkok was approx 4hrs late .
To add insult to injury they were late landing at Amsterdam on the way back meaning they had missed the connecting flight back to Bham and hanging around Schipol for approx 7hrs !
Any help will be very much appreciated as KLM are only offering £41 as a goodwill gesture, and I feel this is a valid claim for compensation.:j

    Thanks

Where you waited whilst being delayed is of no consequence to the delay claim, - of course you can't also claim for reimbursement of meals or any extras like that as you were looked after in that dept.

    Thanks

It certainly appears to be a valid claim. What reasons are KLM using to deny the claim? (I assume a 'proper' claim has been submitted?)
  • Hi all I had written a massive response to my case with TUI, howerver the system lost the lost... :(

The short verison is TUI have finaly agreed to pay up.. I think this might be the first for them on here?

Its taken nearly 3 years but got there in the end.. 2 days before we were due in court and for the second time.. (they didnt turn up to the first). They offered only 50% of the needed compensation, I told them to think agian.. Now they have come back with a better offer. (in full, plus costs)

So thanks to everyone on here, Centipede100 and the others do a great job..

For those still making a claim:

    Well done scorpio.
So the airline didn't back down until virtually climbing the steps to the door of the courthouse?
    How strange..... not!
  • Hello,

BA cancelled my flight about 20 days in advance and booked me on another one some 10 hours later.
I asked them to refund my coach-to-the-airport amendment costs, but they wont. Do you know if I am entitled to demand them by EU or domestic law or the it is on their side? I have now already travelled.
    Thanks!
