You need to decide if the simple letter writing exercise, at the start of things, like attempting to establish the flight numbers and other details, *before* writing to Monarch and asking for the reasons for the flight delay, are worth your time and effort.
Because if Monarch then hide behind an excuse of extraordinary circumstances, then Court might be the only other step. But 3 of you (?) would be €1800. Not a fiver lol
So probably worth the initial steps.
Thats the other thing - there is 7 of us, Me, the wife and our 5 kids who at the time would have been 10/9/6/3/3.
Would the kids also get the compensation if it all goes through?
I had to pay the full fares for them (kids fares which i think was a few pounds cheaper).0 -

ah well - thought I may as well post it as I found the old e-mail by chance. I'll just content myself with continuing my boycott of Ryanair's services0 -

Yes, ALL passengers that pay a ticket price are entitled to compensation0 -

Wow... potentially €4200 then.
Enough almost for another Florida holiday.
Well, if it were me, i'd be busting a gut to find out the info.0 -
Hello again,
I just got off the phone to Charter travel who were helpful. She is forwarding my original booking so i'm just waiting on that.
BUT she told me the flight was scheduled for 07.15 am.0 -

So my next step is write the template letter on here with the info i have to Monarch?
I dont know the reason on the delay though.
What kind of things will they say to get out of it and what if they say its engine fail or some safety issue?
Does that mean the end of it?
Thanks0 -
Ask Monarch the reason for the delay.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Sorry to be a pain.
I ask the reason and then reply to that for compensation or hit them from the first letter with it?
Don't bother asking them the reason, let the claim take it's course and then decide what to do once the reason has been given.
Use the Monarch claim form on Blindmans oft repeated FAQ's post, send it off (I say recorded but others differ) with all the paperwork.
You'll have to fill out a seperate claim form for all the adults, but the lead passenger can claim on behalf of the children.0
