Compensation for delayed flights Discussion Area

1500euro is a strange amount what were your circumstances. Just checking to see if you are getting the correct amount.0

following advice on here I looked into our delayed flight in June which I thought was over three hours. Had a reply back from TUI saying they had looked into it and it was 2 hours 59 minutes!!! I remember when we landed in Gran Canaria we were quite some time before the plane doors opened and we were able to get off. For me, that is the worst part of the journey because I start to panic so I remember it well.
Sounds a bit suspicious to me and just wondering whether there is anything else I can do. thanks in advance.0 -

Yes, correct I believe as 5 passengers, 3.5 hrs delay, long haul - €300 each.
Thank you.0 -

I suspect there maybe some misinformation involved here.
Remember the legally valid time is the time the doors open, NOT when the flight landed.
What were your flight details - number, route, airline, times and dates? We can check to a degree. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Have you put the details into a calculator such as https://www.bottonline.co.uk/flight-delay-compensation/calculator as they have access to the real truth?
Good luck with these *:%#@#%s!0 -
I wonder if someone can help me. Air India cancelled their flight from LHR to EWR. They re-routed me on a UA flight that arrived more than 4 hours after scheduled arrival time.
I claimed under EU 261/2004 and got the following reply:
At the outset, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience experienced as a consequence of the unfortunate delay to your flight between London and Newark. This was due to the government gateway processing to the UK and CA experienced an interruption, hence system was interrupted resulting in a delay
Can someone please explain to me what their excuse is not to pay?0 -
I assume you claimed against Air India?
Whatever excuse it is, its almost not a valid one as an EC.
If your flight was Air India from Heathrow, you are probably due compensation.
Have you put your flight details into an online checker such as Botts or EU claim?

I claimed and that's what they answered me. I was just trying to understand what they were using as an excuse.
Bott say I don't have a claim, but I think they got it wrong. EU Claims say I do have a claim.0 -

I would say that Botts would know. Maybe fill in the details and let them take a look first. if they say no, then go to EU claim?
They only take their 30% ish on a NWNF basis and 70% is better than nothing if you are struggling to do it on your own?
Please let us know how you get on, if you do decide to proceed.

Apologies if there is an answer to this question already, I have looked, but not through all 557 pages!
I have finally managed to get an email from Norwegian admitting to liability under EU261 and that my €1500 "will be transferred to your nominated account within reasonable time"
Does anyone have any personal experience as to how long they actually take to transfer the cash? I have found out on their twitter feed that it may take a month
Well I never received any experience from this forum, but thought I would update anyway in case it may help others. I received my compensation into my bank today, 3 days after I received the email saying they have paid. :j
A result, albeit with lots of chasing and tweeting to get some action, but 55 days from when I first submitted using Resolver and 22 days after using Norwegiann's online form.
I used Resolver initially, but they totally just ignore everything on there, but I then filled in the online Norwegian form, which mysteriously disappears occasionally! Then loads of tweets to get traction, which did help a little.
Good luck for anyone struggling with them and hope this helps a little!0
