I do agree that there will always be proxies and websites can reappear as quickly as they are nuked: just look at *cough* torrent sites.

However, we could assume that younger fingers won't be able to navigate their way to the XXX sites as easily as older children will?

Take the point but young fingers shouldn't be given access to the internet without parental oversight anyway.

The problem this leads to is that "someone else" is doing your job as a parent.

It's also going to lead to a massive war about "what" is pornography.

Just wait until someone decides to catergorise annsummers in pornography. The morality war will be hilarious for places like that.

The actual details seem a little hazy at the moment. From the Daily Hate, here's part of their headline:

"•David Cameron said family-friendly filters would be automatically selected for new broadband customers by the end of the year
•Cameron said search engines shouldn't give any results when child abuse images are looked up"

From what I understood, they specifically want to block out the really extreme !!!!!!, not a blanket ban on XXX content.

Suppose we have to wait until more details emerge. I don't doubt that it could be a problematic idea; in theory, it sounds good: maybe not when implemented.

I know that, around five years ago, when my niece first got a laptop, I ended up taking NetNanny (or similar) OFF as it was too restrictive for her to use, and worse for my mum who's in her 60s and absolutely internet-clueless. It was blocking lots of "harmless" content and as I live miles away, I couldn't spend enough time on it continuously.

However, purveyors and users of !!!!!! managed just fine before the internet, so who's to say it's a big problem? Men (even women) can still buy magazines, go to lapdance clubs, cinemas, buy DVDs, whatever scratches their itch, so to speak.

We're probably better waiting for the whole picture to emerge before getting het up about it.

I shudder at the thought knowing how easy it would be for another to show a child, like my three year-old niece, XXX !!!!!!, or even abusive, degrading content. It's very easy to find, just a few clicks away, at the moment.

Does everyone on here check their OH's browsing history?

I checked mines once, after reading a story on here that made me paranoid, only to find it stuffed full of online gaming sites (we both play an MMO together), I was a teeny tiny bit disappointed! My Oh would not look at !!!!!!, he's to much of a prude :D

That's the flip side of the coin, too.

Some men AREN'T interested in !!!!!!. I had an ex who wasn't bothered with movies, magazines, and it wasn't as though he was afraid to express himself sexually: it just didn't do it for him. He said "I use my imagination, that's all I need"!
  • Why are you so bothered OP? its got nothing to do with how he feels about you. Why is it such a big deal?
I've know loads of people who like !!!!!!, gay women who like to watch gay men, women who like to watch women and men who like to watch anything. I dont see it as being a big deal as long as its not child !!!!!! or involving animals etc.

As I'd assume all men looked at !!!!!! or at the very least masturbated (and most women did too - even including reading all that "mummy !!!!!!" like 50 shades) and someone saying one could not do that would not get very far with me.

I think "all men" is a bit too definite. I'm sure some / many do, or perhaps do as teenagers and go off it.

Before OH and I started going out, I heard some of his mates taking the mickey out of him because he didn't see the point of !!!!!!, just found it a bit odd.
are you upset because he does it in secret or because you really don't like !!!!!! ?
if it's the former then why not suggest you watch it together, i guarentee you will benefit,
for men sex is more of a visual thing whereas for most women it's a love/feelings thing, all men watch !!!!!! be it for their own release or because it shows things that their partners don't like or won't do, ie as in a secret fantasy

Again - you might. Lots of men might watch !!!!!!, but that doesn't mean all men do. Nor can you possibly say that the OP will "guaranteed" benefit from it.

A woman who doesn't like !!!!!! but has a sex toy or reads that 50 shades stuff is a hypocrite quite frankly.

Couldn't agree less. A lot of pornography involves exploitation or abuse of third parties in a way that a sex toy or 50 shades doesn't (I've not read it, by the way, sounds far too tedious).

  • I've known people who've been filmed in porno movies and I cant say that they have been abused or exploited. They have done it for the money as its well paid . They have not been vulnerable or anything like that. Its big buisness, unless the person above is thinking about home made films etc.
I've also known someone who ran a S and M dungeon and they certainly were not vulnerable either. Far from it.

Surely that's the whole point, you don't see it as a big deal, the op clearly does, we are all different you know!

If the op is bothered enough to make a post on here she is clearly not happy with the situation. I'm a man and if my wife were upset or feeling bad about any of my actions I would do my best to stop her feeling bad, that's because I love her very much, don't want her to worry or feel upset, if that meant !!!!!! had to go it really would be a no brainer for me.

I agree - and it would be the same, for me, if something I did really upset my dearly beloved. The point wouldn't be whether or not the activity itself was wrong, but that it hurt him.

    I've been Money Tipped!

I've k own people who have done things they have not felt abused or exploited or manipulated about at the time, but in retrospect feel differently. One of the problems with very young adult workers is they are perfectly legally allowed to, and have to be allowed to make their own choices and if it turns out to be mistakes for them, then mistakes too, but that doesn't mean they are mature enough to make the right choices for them at the time. The problem is our own 'cut off date' for varies. I still make some dodgy choices in my thirties:D and and while I would undo some of the things I did in my teens and early twenties, others I think were a hoot. :). (I did not ever make !!!!!! films though I see it reads as if I am saying I did)

Abuse, exploitation and manipulation aren't always terribly clear cut and transparent. And they exist in ALL areas of life and work I think.
