Oooh yes, do share your exercise/eating regime Kansaskitty! I have decided that doing a pre-wedding diet is ridiculous, because wedding planning is super stressful, so I need to comfort eat all I can.
Have been doing well at the low-caffiene thing, and taking the vitamins each day!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -

Waves at fellow dibber :hello: I'm drglf on the dibb, not a prolific poster but an avid reader. We're off to the land of the mouse 13tn sept for 12 nights. Going to start TTC about a week or so pre trip. Don't want to find out I'm pregnant before I've done drinks around the world at Epcot or any of the big coasters. Timing is key!
A few of you were asking about healthy eating plans. I've been using the my fitness pal app since January and have lost 7kg with relative ease. My aim is to get to a normal BMI for my maternity notes. I've got 2kg to go and plenty of time. You give the app your basic details height weight age and how much you want to lose. It then gives you a calorie total to aim for. You can eat what you want but do have to be a little bit fussy about weighing stuff. It's surprising what a filling dinner you can get for under 600kcals!
I also get lower fat/sugar versions of things like cheese and mayonnaise as that's easy calories saved. Some days I even have spare for some chocolate or an ice cream. I think that is going to be essential when my periods return!
You can also add in the calories you burn exercising and then eat a little more.
As for me we had our friends over with their toddler and 7 week old. The baby made me more broody but the toddler balanced that out! I was supposed to stop my pill last week but got a last minute gynae appt so thought it was best to wait till after that. Only a two week wait and it'll be one step closer.0 -
We're going to disney in october for 2 weeks
would hopefully be technically just about pregnant by then but not going to test until I get back from it, as still want to enjoy the holiday. Not a big drinker so dont mind avoiding that, but love the roller coasters!
Will start my fitness pal again, did this before and it did help me loose a stone, so will get back on it (she says whilst eating a chocolate bar....) x0 -
I need to get back to a more healthy weight before we TTC at the end of the year - I'm such a stress eater though and work isn't great at the moment. I'll also get back to my fitness pal again - it worked last timeBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I read so many stories and articles about women who have exercised a lot during pregnancy and have relatively easy births. Lots of people were ripping into them for lifting weights, or cycling while pregnant, and whilst I'm not saying you'll see me doing 60kg deadlifts while pregnant, I think it must make a big difference to do plenty of suitable exercise during pregnancy. It makes you feel good pregnant or not, so must help to lift your mood too, and keep off any extra lbs that some people gain when pregnant.0

What have people been told about when to come off the pill? When I first started taking it, I discussed it with the health nurse, and she advised at least one cycle before TTC, however, having spoken to my doctor now, I'd told her I was planning to leave one cycle, and she advised against it, saying she knew more people who'd conceived immediately after coming off the pill, whereas people who left a cycle usually ended up TTC for much longer - she said it was something to do with a spike in hormones as your body counteracts it?
I've been horrifically broody this weekend :-( off to see my godchildren the weekend after next, and probably going to try and see my nephew and niece this weekend too, it's so not going to help!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
I think there will always be conflicting advice, but if you couldn't get pregnant immediately then there wouldn't be so many people who accidently fall pregnant because they've missed one/some.
I've read a fair bit that says waiting for a cycle was more to get an idea of how long your cycle is and to make it easier to predict the due date etc.
I would just try straight away, it might save having periods again :T0 -
http://www.webmd.com/baby/news/20070508/past-pill-use-doesnt-lower-fertility
That's a summary of a study that suggests 21% get pregnant in month 1 and 80% by one year. These are comparable to rates in non users.
I'm going to stop mine this month so in can see what my cycles do. They weren't regular many moons ago before I started the pill and I am interested to see what happens. We will be using condoms over this time as I'm of the belief that NTNP is pretty much the same as trying but less pressure!
From a medical perspective it's much easier when a woman has an LMP to date from. Particularly when there is bleeding or pain and a decision has to be made whether to do a scan.
When I take out implants/coils I advise women to give it a month and if they haven't had a period to just get on with it but preferably wait for the period. Partly selfish as I've been the gynae SHO seeing anxious women in A&E.0 -
I'll ask at the doctors when I go next - I was planning on coming off 3 months before but that might be unnecessary?
Another friend announced she was pregnant today....Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

It's not necessary but nothing to stop you doing it!0
