On another forum I'm on (a Disney holiday forum haha) when people have long countdowns they do a 'DDD' Double Digit Dance and an SDD Single a Digit Dance when they go from 100/99 days and 10/9 days. For us September starters we missed our DDD but I'm going to have a little dance now if anyone wants to join me! 95 days until September.

I went shopping today and now that babas are on my mind it seemed like everyone had a gorgeous littlun in an expensive buggy! Aargh, baby fever!

Stopping caffeine is an idea that I don't relish. I'm not a crazy, caffeine fuelled, 10-mugs-a-day kind of person but I do enjoy a good strong coffee it the morning.

Hi I am from the 12-24 week thread. Re caffeine I was recommended the emily oster book expecting better. It was really helpful in terms of conception and pg, enabling me to read the evidence and make my own decisions.

The link between caffeine and miscarriage is complex. I understood it as something like this:

Women with high levels of pg hormones feel sick. People who feel sick are less likely to want to drink caffeine. Women with high levels of pg hormone are more likely to carry to term. Therefore it may only be that caffeine is associated with miscarriage because women who continue to drink it, feel less sick and therefore have less pg hormone anyway (no evidence caffeine affects hormone levels) and therefore the pg may not have been succssful.

Anyhoo, she puts it much better and I thoroughly recommend it as a pre ttc book too.

    Good luck!

Update: So, I started on the vitamins... oh my goodness... they're HUGE. Still, I suppose it's better than taking a thousand different ones each day.

Which ones did you get Tillyenna? The folic acid ones are really small but I'm also taking calcium and vit D and those seem massive. It's a struggle to get the things down some mornings. The things we do!

Trying to convince DH that we need a bigger car for when we do (hopefully) have a sprogglett. He's struggling to see what might be in a years time and I'm talking about fitting a pram in the boot!

Hello again. Last week I counted back from my big 40 next year, and worked out that i need to be PG by August at the latest to have #2 before my 40th. I'm going to track my OV very carefully this month, then i think we are giving it a go July, EEEKKK! We only have 2 shots, so it had better work!

    Oooh Kira, july is soooon!

And pm04gn - I bought the morrisons pregnancy/conception multivitamins (they were on offer, so it was cheaper than buying them all separately) - it's convenient, because it's only one tablet, but they're huge and an odd shade of purple LOL. I guess I'm fortunate that The Boss likes having a big car, so that's not something I need to worry about - although he also likes taking LOADS of stuff when we go away, and I keep saying to him "you're not going to be able to pack all this stuff if we have a baby" to which he responds "they're only small" - I don't think they realise quite how much room a tiny baby can take up!

When will you be TTC? Last Tuesday OH said I could come off the pill, only to change his mind 3 days later (cue running out of pills and having to pay £25 for more as couldn't see a doctor! grrr). I have 6 months of my pill left and once that is gone (roughly October the way I take it) we will make a start (can't wait!)
    Any preTTC prep? Nothing yet
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... Thinking of money saving plans for the house and baby. Also, chocolate helps.
