Those who are waiting to TTC (New Thread)

Made the decision to come off my pill in July! its still a few months ago yet but it makes it all seem a bit more real. Ideally we dont want to conceive until October so gonna have a few months to come off the pill and let things settle and actively not try till at least September!
Going to have a look at the nhs website link someone posted too, as I suppose I should be thinking about vitamins from July time too.
And as age seems to be the height of discussion atm, I'm 26 (so on the younger side I suppose), but husband is 31, so time just seems right

oooh, happy(ish) to see so many people here. I say ish, because it's lovely to have other people to chatter about waiting with, but only ish, because obviously, I wish all of you were able to TTC straight away :-D
I've been making my neice a dress this weekend, (she's 3) and it's so tiny and adorable! I love making tiny children's clothes, and secretly I'm doing it as practise for when I have my own (God willing), so many people I know have handmade kids clothes from me LOL
And yes, I'm dreading the wedding, because The Boss and I want a super relaxed day, and my mum wants a super formal day... it's causing stress because she keeps calling me up and asking me about the tiny details that I don't care about LOL. But it's all worth it, to be able to marry the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and to start a family with :-D besides, less than 4 months to go!
Random question, has anyone seen the acronym "AF" on the TTC thread, and if so, what does it stand for? Obvoiusly, I know what it means, what we refer to in our house as "Beef Week" (because it's the week when I'm craving iron rich foods LOL), but I've no idea what the phrase they're using is.Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
tillenna- af= aunt flo!
Hope to see more of you over the ttc thread soon.x0 -
Tillyenna, it stands for 'Auntie Flo'

oooh thank you guys! I'd never heard that phrase before - it made me giggle. I think I'll stick with "Beef Week" though - it makes The Boss laugh (although this could just be because he likes meat, and is always happy when I'm willing to cook beef LOL)Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

I'm confused. This thread isn't about people who are waiting to try to conceive. It's about people who are trying to conceive.
Why isn't it called 'Those who are TTC'?0 -

This thread is for those people who are planning to start ttc in the future (whether it be next week, next month, next year)- the official trying to conceive part 11 is for those already at the stage of trying.0 -
I tell ye my legs are very tightly crossed on the ttcing front!! Although with only 1 condom left in the cupboard its likely to become a ntnp effort shortly ...0

Thank you all for making me feel better about delaying our ttc date until December. I've spent most of the day with my 6 month old neice so broodiness levels are definitely high! She is a cutie though.

Hello ladies (and gents if there are any?) Can I please join you...
My Age/Partners age: 36/37
Time together: Almost 3 years
What are you waiting for?!: Living together/coming off bipolar meds
When will you be TTC? Hopefully January 2015
Any pre TTC prep? Spoken to GP about possible problems, related to age, endometriosis and only one ovary :-( Also spoken to PDoc About coming off meds and what support I can expect from mental health services. Started to read "What to Expect, Before You're Expecting"
I'm really nervous about coming off my meds, but it's the only safe way to be pregnant. I'm sensible enough to not have an accident, although no contraception (other than being careful/charting) for the last 3 years, has got me worried enough to think there's a problem. Lost an ovary last year after an ovarian cyst issue, so i'm only half there anyway!!
We're talking about seeing a fertility specialist to see if there are any tests I can have before we start trying, but there's no point in rushing this. We'll see how we feel after 6 months of living together :0) I have a much loved IVF niece, so I know how harrowing the treatment is.
Since I lost the ovary, my periods (which used to be spot on 30 days), have been all over the place, anything between 28-35, so this is worrying me too. I'm looking at maybe trying OPK's to see if I can spot any patterns.
Obviously, I'm aware that I'm not getting any younger either - I just hope I'm not starting too late!!Remember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go.
You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. {Rick Warren}0
