Those who are waiting to TTC (New Thread)

Hello - I've just stumbled across this and would like to join please!
My Age/Partners age: 24/37
Time together: Um... well, we've been friends for a long time, it's complicated. Essentially a year and a half ago we decided we were madly in love and perfect for each other and we should stop being friends and just get married... I hear there's this dating thing that's supposed to happen inbewteen those stages, but we're unconventional ;-)
What are you waiting for?!: MARRIAGE.
When will you be TTC? September 14th 2014 (Sept 13th is the wedding day)
Any preTTC prep? Doc has advised that I start on conception vitamins from next month - at which point I'll also be going caffeine free (I'm already alcohol free). Other than that, trying not to go stir crazy every time I see an adorable baby?
I appreciate I'm probably a LOT younger than most of you. The Boss is quite old, and very keen for children, I've felt like I was ready for kids since I was 16 (I just feel God has called me to be a mother) - so a stable marriage is all we are waiting for (that, and me wanting to walk down the aisle in white LOL)
Any other advice on what I need to be doing pre-ttc. It's 4 months now (ish) so whilst I feel like I've been waiting to ttc for YEARS, the end is now in sight.Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -

Im not to be honest, Im such a newb at all this and it scares me to death! Which vitamins should I be starting to take? July is sooo close, we may have to push it back depending on the money situation but we definitely said from July! Im so excited yet terrified too!! xxDebt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -
My doctor said Vitamin D and Folic Acid are the vitamins to be taking - if you look in boots (or similar) they usually have 'pre-conception' vitamins or 'conception' vitamins in a pack, which I think are Vitamin D and Folic Acid. I'm also probably going to start taking Iron again, as I'm quite anemic, but I think that's not applicable to everyone.
And I know what you mean! I'm a bit mental about doing loads of research, but then I find myself hanging around the conception area in boots and just freaking out and running away - I've tried to buy myself the vitamins I need twice now. I figure that I've got get over my fear of the pregnancy section, to prove I'm mature enough to have a baby :-POfficially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
You know the pre-conception ones - how much in advance do you need to take them? I know nothing about thisBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

My doctor (who is awesome, first nice doctor I've EVER had) said 3 months before TTC. I think it takes a while of taking any vitamins to bring your 'normal' levels of that vitamin up.
Also that's a super useful link! Tells me actually WHY I need the vitamins, instead of just the fact I do LOLOfficially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0
