This is why I'm dreading trying to get to grips with my cycle once my implant is out... I'm on CD12 and judging by how my AF have been seen I had my implant in, there's probably another week or so to go!
Has anyone else who had the implant had this problem, and did you ovulate as normal afterwards? My AF have always been long and annoyingly frequent, ever since I can remember, both with and without hormonal contraceptives.Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

Tried starting to retemp this month. Then I got sickness and diahrea just on the crucial ovulating days! Obviously I wasnt sticking no thermometer in my gob during these days LOL. so I stopped and am waiting for AF and will try again once I get my period.0

Hormones are horrible! My TOTM is late but I think its because I had to switch pill for the month (as I live on an Island!)... I've got my normal pill and I'm due to take it tomorrow.. But I've a feeling AF ain't too far away.. Meh, I hate these hormones!!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

I stopped my pill last August, and the first period was HORRIBLE! Now they've settled down nicely into a 29-31ish day cyclemy cycle found its rhythm within a couple of months, after being on the pill for about 9 years. Although I was about 5 days late this month, i think due to having a horrible cold which must have messed with my body clock! Scared the life out of me, wedding in just over 3 months so don't want a bump for that.
So I keep lurking, and waiting...107 days lol!0 -
Hi everyone  A lurker here dropping in to say hi.
I think this thread is about where OH and I are, I know he would happily start TTC now but I'm one of those people who finds it hard to make big life decisions and would probably mull over them forever, and ever.
I've been taking the pill for just over 5 years now so looking forward to being back in control of my body iyswim? Not really sure when it will happen though. Maybe later this year?
There's a few things holding us (me?) back from TTC now:
Work: I enjoy my job and am technically part time but work shifts, either early morning - lunch, or afternoon-late night. I don't have family of my own close by and not sure if OHs family would be able to help much with childcare so I would have to use a child minder from day 1 when back to work. I also enjoy the freedom of being able to work as much overtime as I like, my pay will drop massively to the point where I'll likely only get a few hundred pounds a month after childcare. It would be a lot of pressure on OH to remain in a decent job which I would feel bad about as he doesn't have much job satisfaction in his current one.
Pets: We have a giant breed dog and 2 cats, and I'm not sure how they would adjust to a baby or sharing us. Our dog is quite needy and his size means we would have to be extra vigilant in life with a dog and baby.
Money: We're okay but you can never have enough, right? I know a baby would be the end of being able to save and having a decent disposable income for us. I don't begrudge that it's just a big decision to weigh up money we could save vs TTC sooner.0 -
Hi everybody,
Another newbie here.
I wondered if anyone on here has come off the depo after a long period? I've just had my last shot last month and i was on it for 10 years.
Even when my periods start again, when is the best time/way to find out if i am actually ovulating? I can imagine it may be a while until i start even seeing a pattern in them. I'm hoping they don't take too long to return but i am not getting my hopes up.
Thanks everyone0 -

That's good to hear, I'm hoping to settle down soon coz my moods are all over the place too! We aren't gonna start trying till November so plenty of time to get back sorted and wedding in jan so if we did get caught I wouldn't be showing by thenxxx
Debt free finally :j

Hope it settles for you soon Trixsie! My moods have been erratic since stopping the pill too, and I bloat really badly now too! But I'm glad I see a regular pattern now, it's reassuring.
I definitely don't want any surprises before the wedding, as I'd like to enjoy my hen do in May, and I've got a very fitted dress which would show a bump.
@Staple28: make a note of your periods as soon as they start, perhaps once you have your second you can start testing your ovulation times. you can buy OV kits cheaply, and they'll explain when to test. Try eBay!0 -
I'm still yet to have AF since having my implant removed
thought I might be showing signs if ov then had a tiny half a day of bleeding, but nothing proper. I was already convinced there would be something wrong, now every day longer with no hint of any sort of cycle is just making me feel a bit panicked. We're due to be starting in April ish, but I wanted at least a couple of months of normal cycles first, so it looks like that's now going to be delayed too. I just want to know if my body works.
