    Morning all!

Thanks for the pep talk cottage_retreatist you're right. It could go either way and I shouldn't be so negative.

Interesting article VickyVics thanks for sharing. I'm gonna take it with the usual Daily Mail pinch of salt, the to love to sensationalise things don't they?! It can never hurt to get yourself in good health to prepare your body for pregnancy though. I do worry that I should be doing more. Although my BMI is right in the middle of the healthy range I do feel a pressure to be slimmer so I don't end up ballooning and suffering with complications like gestational diabetes.

OH has gone out this morning. I've been for a run to clear my head before we get to having this talk. Hope to God it's nothing bad :o

    Hi all,

Glad to see this thread seems to have a little more momentum than the last one, I posted a few times before going AWOL from MSE (and money saving in general :naughty:). Anyway, here's me.

    My TTC Stats:

    My Age/Partners age: 25/28
    Time together: 3 1/2 years
What are you waiting for?!: Trying to buy a house, then it will be saving enough to cover the initial costs of setting up for babby, after that I'm throwing caution to the wind as I cannot wait any longer!
When will you be TTC? Hopefully early 2014
Any preTTC prep? Not yet, but will be buying my first lot of Folic Acid and getting my Nexplanon out when we get keys (if OH is ok with it too!)
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... pretending I am capable of ignoring it! Also planning obsessively for the house decoration and carefully stashing ideas for the future.

Jess has just turned 13 months ... I was part of the merge over from the start up of this group! I want another baby! I can't get pregnant now she is too much hard work and the morning sickness killed me. Don't know why i'm here :-D See you in another year lol!! xx
  • Good luck with the talk wangdoogle, do come to the board if you feel like you need to digest the talk - I hate it when I need to have *a talk* with someone it always leaves a sicky stomach feeling.

Hi Jellybox, yes I felt that at the end of 500 pages it got hard to gain momentum when a lot of people on the original thread had graduated to a new board. welcome welcome!

Vickyvics I know what you mean, it's starting to feel like there's a bit of a countdown, things like I've only got 3/4 more cycles before I ttc, my next dentist appointment isn't until the new year now and once we're into September it always speeds up into Christmas, October Halloween, November firework night and then! IT's TIME :)

As for me, I've spent the first proper month tracking my cycle by temping. I recommend it for anyone who wants a little ttc hobby- get a copy of "Taking Care Of Your Fertility" and start getting to know your body. I feel so educated and pre-prepared now and charting my temps this month - although it's been a long and confusing one (48 days and counting) I have now seen the proof that I do actually ovulate!

It's actually a little ridiculous how excited I am at this revelation! If anyone is in to charting do let me know, I'm on fertility friend, but I literally know nobody else who is and when I tried explaining it to my best friend - who's not with anyone at the moment and certain no where near ttc she looked like I had 2 heads.

Hey ho! Thank goodness for this outlet! Happy Sunday all.

I am on fertility friend and my first pregnancy month is on there too :-)
  • Hi RebekahR, would you mind sending me a link to your chart? Can PM if you prefer?

I feel like I'm back at school the amount of "studying" I do on ttc at the moment!

There ya go! :-D My pregnancy chart was from October 2011. Geeze seems ages ago lol. Jess was born in July 2012 and I was breastfeeding so didnt get any periods back until December 2012 I think it was.

I know I really wish we had learnt all this at school :-( It's not as simple as winky in and concieve in 1 hit for a lot of people! Took Just under 6 months here.
  • I had a realisation earlier that made me feel like waiting was a bit easier, consider this:

if you're planning to try in the next 9 months, and are lucky enough to get pregnant in that time, anyone who announces they are pregnant from now on will be still be pregnant when you are.

I know it's lame, but it certainly softened the blow when a friend of mine told me she was pregnant this morning!

That's a pretty awesome thought actually, I love it! Doesn't quell the constant fear that my body won't work when I want it to, but it's still nice.

Honestly JellyBox I've been convinced that I'm infertile, still am to be honest- but I've been temp charting for the first time this month and it looks like I do ovulate, which has improved my confidence no end.
