We talked about birthing methods today! He's all for a all natural home birth, no chance! He also mentioned about putting the date back further, but managed to to convince him that this was a long enough wait!

I used to post on the old thread but didn't quite get to grips with this one....but I am thinking about TTC more and more so I hope you don't mind if I join?

    My TTC Stats:

    My Age/Partners age: 25/40
Time together: 4 years and married 4 months
What are you waiting for?!: Really just time together as a couple and one last good holiday!
When will you be TTC? Not absolutely sure but probably January 2014
Any preTTC prep? Nothing yet but we are off on holiday this weekend and when we get back I am possibly going to come off the pill (argh scary) and definitely start taking a pre pregnancy multi vitamin containing folic acid. I also really need to lose weight and will be doing this too when we get back from holiday. I am worried about the health implications of being pregnant whilst being overweight, not to mention the fact that I will probably gain more weight and then quite possibly just be a beached whale for the rest of my life!
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... Well, going on holiday! And apart from that, just really being conscious of and enjoying all the things we wouldn't be able to do if we had a baby. Also enjoying wine. I love wine. The idea of not having any for over a year is horrifying!
  • welcome to the new thread daisyegg!!

I bought me and the OH some pre-pregnancy tablets yesterday so am awaiting them in the post - got them online, much cheaper than the pregnacare ones and also had a 20% off voucher - don't know if i can mention it online but if anyone wants to - PM me and I can give you the website and code!

we got 120 tablets each for only 23 quid which I think is quite good so should last us 4 months each! I told the OH i had bought us some tablets to make us 'strong' but didn't elaborate as he already looked freaked out!! :rotfl: probably the way I phrased it!!!!

But this is the first real thing I've done to start the TTC journey so its really exciting!!!! Yay! :j

(oh and the stopping smoking! but OH is still on roll-ups even though he's got his e-cig too but i'm hoping he'll just be more gradual and will stop - don't think he really fancies it at the moment so I'm happy for him to chose - don't want to be too pushy!)

  • I know this goes against the entire grain of being solongingtottcyouwanttodoitnow but does anyone every have moments/days when they revel in the fact that they don't have kids yet?

Just a few examples- today I woke up feeling SO tired, not my normal shower/coffee/gym fix would sort me out and I couldn't be more grateful for being able to slum it out tonight in my pj's let the housework fall sides ways and watch Bridget Jones?

To that point watching Bridget Jones makes me remember how nice it is to be an adult and do adult things without any responsibilities.

Maybe a few more of these sort of reminders will help keep me from going broody-mad till December.

    Anyone else want to share?

I definitely agree with this, I love lazy days and I'm secretly hoping my OH is successful in making our child a sports freak like him, so their weekends are taken up by either playing or watching, whilst I get some time to myself!!!

I'm feeling positive today - i did an online survery and 1 of the questions was "are you currently pregnant or plan to be so in the 12 months?". Took me a second to realise and another to double check that yes, April is less than 12 months away! I know it sound silly but answering yes made my day :)

    Roll on April ;)

Is it really exciting, can't wait til I can do it. When OH goes away I'm actually contemplating sending him pre pregnancy man stuff in his care packages, so he can't forget what he's coming back to ;)

I am getting more broody by the day. My withdrawal bleed was actually a day late and I was starting to get a bit excited, even though I knew it might be because I was late in taking the last pill of my pack...:rotfl:

    Hello Everyone,

    New joiner!

    My TTC Stats:

    My Age/Partners age
    : 31/32
Time together: 7 years, married for 2
What are you waiting for?!: To move into our new house
When will you be TTC? October/November 2013
Any preTTC prep? Trying to lose weight (not doing brilliantly tho) and tracking mucus (Yuk lol)
I'm taking my mind off TTC by... Trying to move house

    Hi Ladies,

Been lurking for a while, this is a really lovely thread. I'm a little bit different in that while I have always wanted a family I've never really felt very broody. It's just sort of that I've had my twenties and now is the time to get on with it.
We're currently in the middle of moving from Birmingham which is where my husband is from to a house in Yorkshire which is where I am from. We're doing this in part to have a family as the cost of living is cheaper and my parents are retired.

This week I've read up on the folic acid and mucus thing and started a cycle diary.
To be honest I am finding it all a bit scary, in that (and this sounds v selfish) life is going to change for me in ways that it doesn't for the men. I'm a bit scared about how getting off the career ladder/stopping the going out stuff and what if we're lucky enough to have a baby I'm rubbish at it!

I get you on the how scary it's going to be to change into being pregnant and then a mother, but it's what we want so it's something that we just have to deal with i guess!

Goodluck with the losing weight :)

Hi everyone and welcome to the new joiners :)

Hope you are all well. Sounds like some exciting developments going in for some.

I'm a bit worried. OH is always very interested in babies and stuff and still talks regularly about our future and children. But he said we need to have a talk about TTC some time this weekend. I've been trying to keep us busy so we don't get a chance as I'm afraid that he might try and push it back. I'm freaking out a bit because I'm quite old to still be waiting as it is. If we don't start soon I can see me being 40 before I have a baby :(

    Hey peeps,

It hit me today that we are already in August and there is only four and a half months until January when we start ttc!!! I really cant wait to start but, like others have said, I am nervous about how much life will change. Although I am sure I am ready for it. There is a part of me that is getting fed up of just hypothetically thinking 'I can't wait to do this with our future children'. Does that make sense?

Was browsing the Daily Mail today and saw this article. It's made me even more determined to eat healthily and be a healthy weight when I'm pregnant. Do you think eating habits during pregnancy effect the size of a baby?
