mobile connections problems

Yes, this is certainly not looking too good. At least they have been stopped from trading under a new name. They are still actively pursuing another company to conduct their trojan horse trick.0

Reading all this makes me realise how lucky I am not taking out a new contract with MobileConnections. I had been with them since July 2006, and received 10 months cashback absolutely fine (although with some delays), but no chasing.
Haven't received my month 11 or month 12 cashbacks though. They did try to force me into buying a new contract, but said I'd come back. I am aware that they have a problem with the 3 network holding back on their commission, so MobileConnections is having cashflow trouble passing cashback onto customers.... as customers, we don't really care what happens, so long as we get our cashbacks in time!!! :-) Best to steer clear of this company for a few weeks (if you haven't yet bought a contract).0 -
Hi all,
As this forum has been a bit quiet, does that mean that people are getting there money?
I bought 2 18 month orange contracts from an agent of mobile connections of which it has been 8 months of which I have only received 4. Even with the new T&C I am still 2 months behind.
If any MSE users have managed to get there money back can you tell me how you did this (constant chasing via emails, phone call or ordering a summons).
Thanks0 -
although that was the parent company anyway :rolleyes:0

I have been informed from a reliable source within the comapany, that mobileconnections/dialamobile are cancelling the orange contracts for customers. There will be no cashback, only promises to pay in October/November.
A friend of mine who is owed money went to the shop in Birmingham. She informed me that there were over 150 people screaming and shouting. But after several hours, she managed to cancel the contract and return the handset in the original box. Its a case of cutting your losses, as the airtime provider Orange in this case can ask for the contract to be honoured as they have nothing to do with cashbacks.
I suggest that you may wish to take up this option if you have recently taken up a contract with orange.0 -
UPDATE:
I'm new to this thread but rang these cowboys today regarding the 2 contracts I have with them. The idiot on the phone basically told me to cancel my contracts with T-mobile and Vodaphone because no one will receive any cash back. Apparently everyone will be told this. He said something to do with dialamobile taking over and mobileconnections going bust.
Ok I think we all need to contact trading standards about this.0 -
There is another thread under mobileconnections change in T&C on this forum. Maybe a moderator can merge the two ?0

It looks like we can wave goodbye to any cashback still owed to us. I've been told the same thing by the mobileconnections agent and there are loads of people returning their handsets and sims. The agent has said to cancel the direct debit and send a letter to trading standards.
What a bunch of fraudsters. Feel like a right fool.
Does anyone know if we can claim cashback from MoneyClaims against dialamobile who bought the company and are indeed a partner company (before dialamobile took over mobile connections my bank statement said i was being paid by 'Dialamobile Ref: Mobileconnection).0 -
The shops shutters closed today. seems they have scammed everyone.
however there was no mention that administrators to wind down the co are involved yet.
cheers

ps - yes they scammed me too of £650 also0 -
Can anyone else confirm that they are officially shut? I live in Birmingham, and am planning on going there tomorrow to show them my month 12 bill, for the cashback.
Is it not possible for MC to have temporarilily shut down, as they might have been threatened quite a lot from angry customers - so probably for their own safety shut down? Still not good though to have left customers in the lurch. Will be a major situation if they officially have shut down though.0
