I'm afraid you just get more and more... well, never mind. Perhaps if you HAD spent time READING these threads LONG BEFORE you entered into ANY cashback deal you wouldn't be running around like a headless chicken now! Personally, I have loads of 12 month free deals and have got many more for friends and family. I spent at least a year reading threads like this, looking VERY carefully at the companies and the deals and the t&c before I went into my first deal. When I did I had MY eyes OPEN and knew what the risks were AND what would go wrong/where I would stand. I also make sure my friends understand things perfectly before I order anything for them. We have never lost any cash back claim but we aren't stupid and take the risks according to our objectives and circumstances. It amazes me on these threads how many people are blinded by the deals without looking at the downside - which is how so many lose so much. In fact, it's not true that there's no such thing as a free lunch - just as it's not true that there is no risk - and MOST if not ALL cashback dealers are sharks (mild term). It's a game and if you can't afford to lose you shouldn't play. As for thinking it is "right" - this is not a moral question. It is a factual right and if people don't like the facts as they are in these deals they (again) should never enter into one.
For the record, I did go for a deal with an mc company in July and was incorrectly turned down by the network. However, I would have gone for one or two more, exposing myself to a maximum risk of £1,000 on three deals with great phones and the option to downsize one of the contracts at six months IF the company went bust. I wasn't impressed and hesitated when I wasn't getting satisfactory email responses or (when I then did) written confirmation and knew it was risky. I commenced on the basis they WOULD still be around and I would need to sue. However, had I ended up with three contracts and then this happened I would be sensible and mitigate my loss rather than devasting the rest of my financial affairs as you seem determined to do to yourself.
It's your life and you can do as you wish; but so far it doesn't seem you've found ANY advice which suits (so it's all been rejected as have those who gave it - wonder what happen to the "solicitor's"?) along with all those who offered it. That's fine and your absolute right, but to then go on and ignore ALL the consistent advice and urge others to follow you down the drain is not exactly caring and helpful. THAT is more about reassuring yourself rather than helping others. The rest of your statements throw no information of value whatever into the mix. However, I would not stoop to suggest that you shouldn't come onto the thread. Unlike the thread which was closed down on another site, this one isn't full of hysterical people who cut down the very few people on there (and I wasn't one of them!) who DID give VERY sensible information and advice. You aren't looking for information; just to let off steam. That isn't helpful to anyone in my humble opinion.0

            I agree.
1- Waiting and hoping for a miracle to happen and getting all the cash back is foolishness. I dont see any reason for this to happen.
2- Orange is downgrading now but later they might not. When they started chargin for 077 numbers I called them to tell that I want to end the contract but they did not agree. Now when I called again regarding MC and told them that first the 077 acces was revoked and now no cashback how can a customer pay for a uselss phone. They said that they were ready to end the contract when they revoked 077 access but as it is an old story now they can not. Thwy will say the same thing one month down the line for MC scam.
Best option is to downgrade now. People might have different views so no offences to indicividual preference/ideas/views.
If all of us are opportunists (taking a the downgrade option), there would be a better solution to MC issues!0

I have to say Mobilejunkie you certainly have perseverence for this one.
Having followed the thread its is clear that the factual advice being posted is constantly being ignored in exchange for jerk reaction ill thought ideas. The same ill plan that landed you in this problem. Personally I would not touch a cashback plan if they paid me, well they do pay, but its something I would never consider.
As someone posted prob mobilejunkie, you have to do some basic research , similar to going on holiday, buying a car etc. You should never be taken in by the sale spiel.
As for this mass protest or whatever is being planned. Its a dead loss. Why would the networks bail you out and cancel the contracts. You accepted and used the service. The other factor do bear in mind is that if the networks allow cancellation, it would open the floodgates. That would also signal the green lights to other retailers to close shops as they would expect the networks to sort out the mess. I know that plans are afoot to lobby PM,and get a new bill through the commons, but in reality its all pie in the sky.
Its better to reduce your costs and ask for a downgrade which serves you and the network.
Finally , as a good solicitor friend of mine told me, if there was any credence in these claims in taking on the networks, there would be a stampede of solicitors offering no win no fee. In reality there is no case to win.0

I think this thread is actually quite useful and important on a wider scale. It shows what can happen when things go drastically wrong, warns potential customers of cashback schemes that there's a lot more research they need to do and things they must check out and understand BEFORE they go ahead and highlights some things that many obviously don't realise - such as there being two totally separate contracts. Hopefully these things and possibly a few more will be useful to others who are not affected by this particular collapse (or what seems to be so). In fact, it might be of more use to those people than the poor victims of this one!0

i have just called t-mobile who advise they will discount £5 per month for each line rental....
 Hi
I believe anyone who challenges these network providers will not get very far i.e. in terms of I have not signed anythin.
I think the same point is regurgitated again and again... by paying the network providers money you are agrreing to their terms and conditions regardless of whether you have signed a contract or not.
Furthermore it is true T-mobile are lowing monthly line rental. They have lowered mine to £10 a month and also reduced my commitment period to 12 months.
Not an ideal situation. But better than paying a ridiculous £85...
Anyone need any help I can e-mail a copy of the letter I have sent to t-mobile.0

            Dear All, Peace
What does the second letter template actually say or mean?
Answers:- It demands the Cancellation of Direct Debit.
- It demands that the Service Provider does not share information with the Credit Reference Agencies (there is no such thing as black listing, but some like to use that phrase). Via the Rights assigned by the Data Protection Act.
- It invites the view that this was preventable, and had the Service Provider took reasonable steps to prevent this, he would not be in this scenario.
- The Service Provider has let down both you and the industry.
- You make allegation for the price quoted for you to come out of the contract is NOT the actual loss suffered by the Service Provider.
- On nice terms the remedy you propose. The default is cancellation by returning any merchandise that is subsidised.
- You may want to amend any part to suit your own requirements that is if you choose a different remedy example a) lower tariff. You should amend that part of the letter to read as such.

THIS IS THE BEST AND THE MOST SENSIBLE POST I HAVE FOUND ON THIS THREAD AND ANYWHERE ELSE REGARDING THE MC SCAM ISSUE.

For those who have just signed a new downgrade contract with service providers, read the following link. You will not be able to change your contract. I have tried to give good advice to all the real victims, but there are some people here have tried to ignore the facts. I have to repeat "if you think it is right to pay service providers through DD without receiving cash back from MC, you should not be here." This is perhaps my last thread in here.
