I'm now soooo fed up with Abbey, I'm involving the Ombudsman as I can't get any result from my SAR, even tho' I complained to Information Commissioner six weeks ago!! Beginning to think I'm invisible, or maybe I just don't exist!! Have been waiting for info since February, now it's all starting to make me feel ill. Really need the money they took when we were going thru' a very bad time, and they've lost some of our documents etc. Am I all alone out here?? Feel like i'm going round in circles.

Flipping hell, have you tried ringing them ? I rang barclays when they went over the 40 days and got them just over 50 days, worth a shot.

  • Bank Charges Reclaim:
    (Yorkshire Bank)

    Hi all.

Asked for my statements on 14 April without success, so after loads of calls and equally loads of excuses from Yorkshire Bank I resorted to the ICO. Got a letter from them on 28th June saying they have told YB that they cannot, and should not, withhold this info. The ICO say that they have contacted YB and asked them to sort out my request without delay. Obviously they are ignoring this because i'm still waiting and I just wonder what is the best course of action from here as I appear to have hit a brick wall.
  • I sent the 1st letter to my bank 9/6/07 the 40 day time limit is now approaching but i've not heard anything from them, if by the 40th day i don't hear anything or have not recieved any of my statements what is the best thing to do, do i re-send the same letter or is there another sample letter i can send in this case, any advice would be really appreciated.

    thanks kelly:confused:

Pass the information to Information Commissioner and they will get in touch with the bank and remind them they have to comply with Data Protection request.

    Link is here:

Just go to complaints section and take it from there. I had to do this with the Halifax who were well over their 40 days.

Get back in touch with ICO advising you have still not recieved them. I had to do this with the Halifax, took me ages to get them but I kept on going back to ICO and finally got them.

    HI Kez,
Thanks so much for your support! Means a lot just to know some-one's there! Have filled out a complaint for the Ombudsman now, so perhaps he can help. Everyone else I know has at least got their info, so things are underway for them, was starting to feel out on a limb; so your support was very welcome!!

Have you tried phoning the FO to see what they say?

Sadly Abbey, Yorkshire and the Clydesdale are probably the worst, not just at this stage but all the way through a claim.
