40 days and no info/statements

Write a reminder letter, pointing out how long they have left to comply (you could try phoning them too).
Then write to the information commissioner. You must have proof of delivery of your statement requests.
Dead on 56 days, you can also start your claim with the FOS, if you are going down that route. Point out that Natwest have not been forthcoming with the list of charges.
You can start your claim without knowing the charges.0 -
My statements finally arrived on the 39th day!!!!!
Either be patient or just go ahead and send them a request for bank charges based on an estimated amount. In your letter make it clear that in 14 days you will make a claim in the courts if they dont pay. Then on the 14th day make the claim.
Lloyds originally told me that I didnt have a claim. Their letter was long and waffly but was very generic. I replied telling them that I thought their decision was wrong and that I was still going to take them to court. On the 14th day I did take them to court.
They have just sent me a letter offering to pay in FULL.
Lesson I learnt was not to wait around for them. Set a timetable and stick to it. Give them the 40 days and then proceed without them. Estimate the charges by using the online statements. But DONT let them dictate the timings.Reclaims:
Lloyds TSB: 07 Jul 2007. Lloyds just offerred to pay up in full£1000 approx. T&C attached to me accepting.
MBNA Europe: Sent ANOTHER goodwill gesture cheque for the same amount of £350. I sent back the last one for this amount. Court action started.0 -
They seem to have started paying up in some cases, which is a change is stratergy.
I hope my 2 burly baliffs helped them come to that decision, along with the company cars they marked for removal0 -

Report them to the Information Commisioner once the 40 days are up, should move things on a little for you

Hi fill in the forms for the financial ombudsman then that will get them moving. I had to go down this road as it took the clydesdale bank 3 mths to get my statements sent.I even recieved a letter from them refusing me my claim which I hadn't put in as they wouldn't give me my statements. The bank hates people going this way as they get charged a fee of up to £400 for ever complaint made against them. You will have to send the ombudsman every copy of letters sent and recievd to your bank. Also send away recorded delivery or you can email them to the ombudsman and attatch your letters to your email with the complaint form

To clarify, the 40 days is taken from when the bank is deemed to have received your letter and cheque and is 40 straight days and not 40 working days.
If you have had no reply from your bank regarding your SAR request within their 40 day deadline you can try sending this letter by Rex_Mundi to your bank.

You can also and indeed should report the bank to the Information Commission, however as they are very busy handling these complaints they are sending out the complaints to the bank in batches on a monthly basis.

If you bank with Lloyds and HSBC you can download your statements online. Best advice is to camp on the doorstep of your local branch and/or phone HO/Customer Services/local branch daily until they get sick of you.

the branch i opened my account in is in town and i happen to be going in tomorrow.
I sent my letter requesting my statments by RD on 28th April and still haven't got anything yet - except a letter saying they are dealing with my request.
I phoned 3 times last week chasing it up and the girl said the 40 day responses time has increased to 60 working days.
I asked on here if that was true and was told it isn't.
I was thinking that the next step for me is to go to the branch tomorrow and refuse to leave till i get my statements.
is this a good idea and will it work?
