Bank: BarclayCard!!
Claimed; £980.00 including interest and court fee
Recieved: 980.00
Story: Originally they paid me £350 without a letter to me saying so after i sent them the first letter. I then went for the rest on Money Claim on line, and today i recieved a letter offering me the rest. All in all it took 4 months with a delay on my part of a month. Go for it, once you have filed on line on Moneyclaim wait for them to ackknowledge it, give it another week and phone Barclays Litigation Department on 02071161943 give them your claim number and they will put you through to the person that is dealing with your claim, it saved me a lot of time, go for it people...they will pay all the money but you have to file online on Moneyclaim first!
Good luck!

Bank: Natwest
Amount Reclaimed: £2,200
Amount they paid: £2,000
The story:
After a VERY long battle with Natwest, I finally got a letter today offering me £2,000I've had a very hard time getting these charges back and really had to fight for it. For over three years they have penalised me again and again. Whenever I have called Natwest they have been rude and seemed to not care about the fact they kept taking my money!
At one point they took over £125 over a two day period. I could only see one charge that they should have taken, instead they took three. When I called and asked to talk to someone about this, I was made to feel like a fool and actually reduced to tears by the way I was spoken to, and made to feel like I was silly for even questioning it.
I never even got a letter confirming that my query was being dealt with, and had to send three letters before they sent me a huge package containing all my bank statements. I got charged even more between the time of reclaiming my charges but when I phoned to query these (Some of these charges shouldn't have even happened, at one point I felt they were charging me for simply breathing!!!), I was told they could not do anything as I had an ongoing charge query with them. Very frustrating!!
This has all been ongoing since the end of March, and now finally three months later has been resolved.
I have also switched banks during the period of getting my charges back, and no money goes in or out of my Natwest account at the moment.. until my money clears, which I will then be taking out before closing my account.
For the first time in years I feel in control of my money and my bank accounts.. all thanks to the advice on here.
Thanks very much to Martin and everyone on this site. I nearly gave up numerous times, but would advise anyone going through the same thing to STICK WITH IT! Its worth it! Reading that letter today had lifted a big weight from my shoulders and has made me extremely happy.. not just because of the actual money but for the fact I WON!!! yay!!!0 -

I would just like to say a big thank you. It did take 6 months but Barclays finally gave in and gave me the whole amount back !
£3,800. The court date was schedued for 31/07/07. I got my pennies back today and will be closing my account.
I wouldn't have had the know how and did panic a bit when they decided to fight, but reading everyone else's experiences gave me the incentive to sit it out.
To all of you out there who are thinking about it, please do it, what have you got to lose, the banks have already had the money it's only the £120 court fee you can lose (if at all).

Bank: Natwest
Amount Claimed: 1,176
Amount Paid: 860
Thank you so much for the information on this site. I couldn't have done it otherwise!! It's taken 4 months & a threat of court action, but I finally received a letter from Natwest on 3rd July offering me 860, which I will accept. That's the amount of charges they took in the first place, with no statutory interest, but I'm happy with that. All I ever wanted was what they took originally. No wonder I never had any money when they kept taking it in big chunks. 320 in one week at one point. Thieving @|&*'s!!!!
All I can say to everyone is
PERSEVERE WITH IT. STAND UP TO THE BANKS. IF ENOUGH OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE SHOUT, THEY WILL HAVE TO HEAR US!!!
THANKS AGAIN!0 -
