Bank LloydsTSB
Amount claimed £1,963.11
Amount received £2,209.36 RESULT:T
Started claim 01/03/2007
Bank fought all the way forcing me to take them to court then settled out of the blue for full amount plus costs.
Had to make an appointment to see Branch Manager and was a bit worried that they might try to get me to close accounts...
...but they didn't!
More than happy,thanks for the guidance!0 -
Bank: HSBC
Amount Reclaimed: £1700 inc interest
Amount they paid: £1300
Sent off the template letter requesting money owed and added the interest using the online calculator. Got a quick response saying they where looking into my case, then heard nothing for 2 months.
Letter arrived today asking if I would accept £1300, which is close to the original amount without interest!
Not bad for the minimum of effort and a few stamps, my thanks to all who helped on this site.

Nationwide Success!
claimed £4000 + received £4000+ ( inc interest)
Followed all advice from Martin, using Templates and MCOL.
Would stress to anyone who is yet to claim, how straightforward it is.
Stay resolute about demanding the full amount plus interest & costs.
But above all = BE CONFIDENT! YOU WILL WIN0 -
Bank: HSBC
Claimed: £2738.73 (incl interest)
Offered: £2231.55
The Story: I started this claim for my boyfriend at the end of April using the templates and MCOL. On the day before the judgment (28th) before having to go to court we received a letter offering the above amount. Ok its £500 short of the money we would have got if we'd have taken it further but we're happy not to have to do that and its better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper!
Thanks to all the advice on this site! I'd say keep going for it. :j0 -
Claimed using Martin's Letters. The claim had progressed to the point where i was issuing the summons on line in the next few days when out of the blue came the offer of £2576.00 against my claim of £2900.00. This to me is a result as paying just £374.00 for six years of banking is a bit of a result.

Bank: Abbey
Offered: the full.......255 quid
Not as much as some may have claimed, but am well happy to get it back; 255 quid is a lot of beer money for a student.

Another success story. Started my claim with LLoyds in January. Realised last week that I hadnt sent the court bundle off. Quickly did it. Havent heard anything. checked my lloyds accounts today and they had credited me with £3584.20. which is £566 short of what I asked for. Court date is next Thursday or not now.:beer:0

Halifax Bank
claimed £5000
got back £4995 :j
Followed MSE advise, worked a treat.
asked for statments, this was dragged out for several weeks by the Halifax. Sent first letter asking for £5000, got letter back saying they don't belive they have over charged us. Sent second letter giving them 2 weeks notice before taking them to court. Got letter back 3 weeks later offering us £3100 (I hadn't at this point started court procedings) I phoned the Halifax to thank them for the offer but said I wouldn't be accepting and I would be taking them to court. The lady I spoke to was very nice and said she had the authority to increase my offer, in short I asked for £5,000 and got £4,995.
Huge thank you to all that work at MSE
Thanks Ty:rotfl: :T :beer::T

I was slightly worried that my claim would fail after the recent court cases where the courts found in favour of the bank. I had to register with the small claims court, and the bank submitted a defence, but then offered me a settlement of £1400 on a £1800 claim. Money now refunded. hoorah!:D0

:money:HALIFAX
AMOUNT CLAIMED - £226
AMOUNT WON - £256 (£30 COURT COST)
Thanks so much to everyone on this site. It took me 3 months but eventually got my money back after going through MCOL. Halifax defended my claim and as I had requested judgement at the same time, MCOL stated claim rejected. Emailed MCOL who advised me to send form N225. Two days later money in bank and a letter from Halifax.
I have just sent off two more letters to Halifax for my partner and our joint account.
Thanks Martin0
