Nationwide - Claimed £3884.00, Received £3784.00
Went through the whole process, including MCOL, on day 28 (28th June) the money was dropped into my account. I have had no communication with Nationwide, not even a letter, and if they don't close the account then i will.
There were several occasions I nearly chickened out, but ready all the postings on the site ensured that I stuck to my guns. Have now paid off 90% of all my debts, so am looking forward to being debt free very shortly.
Big thanks again to everyone on the site. :money:0 -
After using only the first two letter templates from this site to reclaim my bank charges from Natwest.
I have had an offer, I asked for £3100 including interest worked out on the site calculator.
Natwest have offered £2700 this is the total amount of charges I have paid to them.
Needless to say I have accepted the offer.
THANK YOU0 -

Hello,
Just wanted to report my success with two claims I have made.
Capital One I had to go as far as making a claim on Moneyclaim online. Received notification that Capital One would defend claim but then 2 weeks later (yesterday) was sent a letter from Capital One stating that they were going to pay up-£453.03, all of my original claim (with interest) plus court cost.
Also yesterday (good day for me)! was sent a letter from Ace Gifts catalogue stating that they were going to pay me in full £130.27 (including interest). I did not have to go as far as making a claim through the courts with them, just the 'threat' letter produced the results.
I also have two other banks which I am currently going through the claim process with, Nationwide having just notified me that they are going to defend the claim ((£835.70) and Barclaycard who have offered me my request amount minus the interest. I know I may be crazy & should grab the money & run but I'm on a roll so am trying to 'barter' for a bit more hoping that we can come to a 'half way' arrangement which all being well will be £140.
Please though everyone stick with it to the end. I am a single parent with nobody to 'share' my doubts with when receiving the banks 'scare tactic' letters and I dread the thought that I might have to go court to pursue a claim but I feel very positive and strong from all the advice that Martin has given & also messages from other people on here help. Good luck to everyone & take care. :j0 -
HI
Lloyds TSB
Claimed £5742.89 including interest
Wrote letter
Wrote second letter
Did MCOL which costed £250.00
Northampton transferred proceedings to my local court
Lloyds TSB solicitors defended claim
Local District Judge deemed it to be heard as a small claim
3 days later, bank solicitors send offer letter offering ALL of the claim PLUS another £80.83 interest PLUS £400.00 in legal charges
TOTAL RECEIVED £6222.89!!!!!!!!
The joke is, I have 2 accounts with Lloyds, the other one is £1700! And my local court has informed me that the judge will more than likely make the same decision with that one!!!
To say I am a bit chuffed is an understatement!! Thanks Martin, your are star :money:0 -
Clydesdale submitted a defence for my small claim, but today received an ex-gratia offer of court costs plus charges, but no interest. Since interest would only have been £30, looks likely I'll take it.
Great site! Thanks,..0 -
Bank: Abbey

Amount Received: £6066.00
Stage reached: court
Thank you very much if I hadn't seen GMTV back in December when you where on it Martin telling us how to reclaim our money I don't know where we would have been. I started back on the 5th January 2007 and we were paid out last week. They did offer us £5392.25, but my husband phoned there solicitor and said it wasn't what we wanted so she upt it instantly. Now all I have to do is claim back this years amount and they practicaly made us bankcrupt last August and we didn't now where to turn, and they still took interest off us even when they said we had an unauthorised overdraft when we did. So here we go again.
But once again everyone should go for it, it does work, you just need patience.

Bank Building Soc: Nationwide
I wrote to Nationwide requesting summary of charges on 20/3/06. I waitied, and waited, and waited until the 40 days allowed under the data protection act was up, then phoned their data protection department on the 41st day. I left a message with my name and phone number and waited another couple of days. I then had to phone again and leave another message. Two days later my information landed on my doormat, special delivery.
I totalled up my charges, added the interest and wrote my first letter, to which I had a standard reply in about a week.
I then wrote the 2nd letter, threatening to take them to court, to which i received no reply within the 14 days.
I then filed with MCOL and paid the £120 fee. The claim was to be served after 5 days, but Nationwide saved me the wait and Acknowledged the very next day, 4th Jun.
I have been waiting with baited breath every since, with the deadline for defence (2nd July) looming I was getting nervous. No need though as the day before yesterday (27th Jun) I received two corrections into my account totalling £1250. This is just under what I claimed before interest and court fees.
I am now looking forward to 2nd July, when I am hoping I can enter a judgment for the full amount (providing no defence to my claim has been entered) and get the rest back!
I can't even begin to thank the people behind this site. This sort of money is a big deal to me and couldn't have come at a better time, as the Mrs and I are due to complete on our first house in a few weeks :T
Update:
Received a bank credit for the remainder of my claim, total £1720.85 repaid.
Nationwide wrote me a letter threatening to close my bank account if I fail to run my account within the terms and conditions again. No matter as I am moving my account..
Once again, thanks to all involved in running this site, couldn't have done it without you! :beer:0
