YES!!!!!!!! I am SO happy that I can hardly type!!! Just spoke to the very lovely Graham from Halifax. After asking for re evaluation and getting offer of 50% decided to phone and ask to negotiate that amount. He asked me what I'd be happy with.....so I said the full amount!! No haggling ,and just a few laughs and jokes later...he agreed!!! Money to be credited within the next 14 days!! The biggest thanks to you Martin, your fantastic site and all those who have contributed!! But not forgetting Graham without whom this would not have been possible!!!!!!! Sounding like an Oscar speech now.....wish you could all have a trophy!!!!!! :j :T :A :beer:0

Bank: Barclays
Amount Reclaimed: £2832
Amount they paid: £2832
The story: Sent off first letter in Feb reclaiming £2,140, stuck to my timetables. They offered £1k, I refused and wrote 2nd letter. After 21 days apprx (funds depending) I issued Money Claim Online together with £100 fee and interest. Claim rose to £2,832. Barclays defended I wrote letter to bank and courts advising that I understand QA has been dispensed with. I called barclays litigation and got no-where. The courts were quite backed up but they gave me court date of end of August. I called Katherine at Barclays Lit, she advised me to email over schedule. Shortly after they paid full amount. However, since claim they have charged me a further £185 so the process starts again.0 -

Bank: HSBC
Amount Claimed: £3377.18
Amount Paid: £2812.00
The Story: I claimed on behalf of my best friend who is hopeless with money. We asked for 6 years of statements, which were received promptly. They didn't even want the £10 we sent for them and returned the cheque. Using Martin's brill template letter and interest calculator, we calculated the charges at £2812 and added interest, then sent off the letter and waited patiently for eight weeks as requested by them. After eight weeks my friend received a letter offering £2812 "without prejudice" (the amount claimed less interest). My friend chose to accept this, rather than drag the procedure out any further. The money was credited to her account 14 days later. The money will help her out at a very difficult time for her.
I must thank Martin profusely for his expert guidance on this site and for giving us the confidence to claim. Also thank you to the forum users for their posts - reading through these was so encouraging.
Best of luck to all of you still going through the process :beer:0 -
Evening, all! Claimed £1488 from HBOS, got usual refusal letter, wrote again, got substandard offer last week, phoned the number on the letter this morning, was asked what figure I had in mind, asked for the full amount and got it! The only delay or obstruction I encountered was in getting my statements, and even that was put right as soon as I got in touch with Customer Services.
Many thanks to all the helpful people on this forum, and, of course ,to Martin!
