Barclays Bank Plc
Requested £140
Received £120
I phoned Barclays asking for an address to request bank statements, they said they would send them free of charge over the phone and they did. A week later I went through my statements and had charges totaling £140, I sent the template letter requesting my money back plus interest and they responded within 14 days offering me £120 if I would sign a waiver for the rest I requested which I did. 3 Days later cash was in my account.
My OH
Barclays again
Requested £525
Received £500
Same as above.
Must say Barclays have been the best so far, we have two claims online with the court system for Barclaycard (who offered a poultry £60 of £200) and Halifax who have not given a reasonable response to any of the letters I have sent. We have a further 3 at letter stage, Halifax credit card, Bank one and another Baclaycard.
I have also got family members to get their claims going, will keep you updated.0 -
:j Abbey have paid out they have offered me a settlement of £3500 which I have taken. Now waiting for money to be put in my account, which I will then take out and close. Oh how i hate ABBEY.
Court date is due 2nd of aug so when i get my money I will withdraw claim.
Without going to court I've claimed back from :T

Bank: First Direct
Amount reclaimed:£1964 + Interest: £357.92 = Total: £2321.92
Amount Received: £1669
Story:
Decided to give it a go, they did not charge for sending copies of statements even though I sent £10 cheque to cover costs.
Sent initial letter about 9th June, received statements a few days later - by courier!
I was shocked to add up full 6 year total to find that I had copped for such a lot of charges!
So sent off letter asking for the money back, thought I'd be 'cheeky' and included FULL cost of charges plus interest, thought I'd have a battle or be offered a minimum amount. Asked for this refund June 15th, received offer June 19th, decided to accept and returned slip agreeing to amount June 20th and they paid up straight into my account June 28th.
Must say was impressed with speed of service.
For anyone out there still not sure whether to go ahead or not - the letter templates & interest calculator make it really easy to apply - only took about 10 minutes to download, add my details to first letter & print and about half an hour to type in & print out charges for second letter.
I got £1669 back for less than an hour of my personal time including popping out to the post office to send letters by recorded delivery. I think it was worth an hour of my time to get this result.
So go for it!!
Thanks Martin for an excellent site!0 -

I'm posting this on behalf of my forum buddy
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount claimed: £2963 INC INTEREST AND COURT FEES
Amount received: £3094.50
I sent the original letter on 17/4/2007 asking for my bank charges to be repaid. I received the usual reply, that they are looking into our complaint. After 14 days I sent the 2nd letter, still no offer of payment, so filed MCOL on 6/5/2007, which was defended by Lloyds. I received a notice the defence was to be struck out by Boston County Court on 19/6/207they had until 3/7/2007 to object. I rang SCAM daily and was told on thursday that a settlement offer had been sent out to me offering the full amount which I have received this morning. :j :j :jMember & fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation0
