Had no hassle whatsoever from Oasis card, step by step -

    2) Submitted claim for £192
    3) They offered 50%
    4) Issued L.B.A.
    5) 3 days later they offered me the full amount!!

Really big thanks to this website, couldn't of done it without its help, resources and advice from the users - THANK YOU! :)
  • Bank: Barclaycard
    Amount claimed: £433
    Amount paid £310

Started the process beginning of Sept, calculated total charges were £310 and I added interest of £123. Sent first claim letter one week ago and today received an offer of total charges back but no interest. Am very happy to accept in such a short space of time. Thanks to all those on here who have helped me!
  • Bank: Natwest
    Amount claimed £741.74
    Amount received £741.74 and more!!

I initially was claiming £1200 from the bank, but soon realised that half of it was statutory interest which isn't claimable! Whoops! We got to the day before the court date and I was bricking it. Suddenly I get a call from the solicitors asking for copies of the charges that I was claiming - this was the third time I had submitted them and thought it was just delay tactics. Next thing I know I'm in discussions with the solicitors about how much they will agree to pay! I cancel the court hearing and they offer me £603! Which I laugh at and tell them, it's more like £741.74. I received a cheque for the full amount the next day. And some weeks later, I received an unprecedented lump sum from the bank as a good will gesture! Who would have thought it! Don't give up! I fought the bank and ended up with more than I was claiming! Result!

  • I used the initial letter format, then the second letter.

    HSBC
    Claimed 2,021.

    Received 1,883.

I am delighted, the whole process only took about 8 weeks. I used the refund to clear other debts and thus reduce my monthly outgoings.

Thank you so much Martin :T
  • Bank : Bank of Scotland Credit Card

    Amount claimed : £650
    Amount received : £398
Time taken : 8weeks in total

Best response time with Bank of Scotland ever. I've been fighting my Clydesdale mastercard since feb 07 and in oct 07, I'm still waiting for a resoponse and now my compliant is has been with the FOS since July.
I know I should not have settled with their first offer, but I'm a mega poor student and that cash really makes a difference !

Keep at them ! Fight your credit cards, while the test case goes on for the bank charges !
  • I went to the bank today(Barclays) and told them i was not happy about the service i have received from them since changing from the Woolwich.
I have just split up from my husband and also changed my job so money has been very short supply.
In the last month they have charged me £90 in charges which i can't afford.
I had not received any letters from them.
The lady today was very helpful and refunded the lot due to me not understanding the way they work.
I was very surprised i didn't even have to cry.
  • Bank: Royal Bank of Scotland
    Amount claimed: £xxx
    Amount paid £xxx

Fairly straightforward. Sent letter 1, got my statements back a while later. Marked all the charges, used the interest calculator, and sent off letter 2 claiming £xxx plus interest. Shortly after this, however, the test case brought by the 5 (?) banks entered court, and I was told that due to this, my case was going to be delayed. It was, by up to a couple of months, but then, out of the clear blue sky, got a letter thru saying if I took the £xxx, that would be the end of it. Needless to say, I leapt at it. The really interesting part though, is that due to my own doggedness, I had already had some of the charges previously rescinded, so really came out on top!

Note that in addition to the 'overdrawn charges' , I also successfully reclaimed the mythical £10 per month 'service charges' as well as the frankly staggering £38 'unpaid item' charges. Reviewing my statements now, I also see some apparently miscellaneous £20 charges too. Shocking.

My advice is claim every charge applied. That is what I did, and that is what I got.

    bank: Nat West
    Amount claimed - £126
    Amount received - £126

Used the letter from the site and had no trouble getting the money - probably because it was a relatively small amount. Very welcome all the same (on a limited pension).
