  • been a good day today. received two cheques, one from capital for £580 once it had got to mcol stage inc interest and court fees, and a cheque from halifax for £850 off a mortgage account which had late/unpaid fees applied. only had to send the one letter and they offered a payment in full including interest and this was only offered last week. thought they might have tried to hide behind a stay but it seems obvious now that they don't want late/unpaid fees on a mortgage account to be questioned in court.
totals to date - halifax current £2255 halifax mortgage - £850 capital one cc - £580 sent in refund letter to monument claiming £300 and still waiting from citi for my statements given them an extra 10 days then will be reporting them next week.
  • :j Well I'm pleased to announce a 2nd success with RBS. My first was before the test case for £1027 and this is my 2nd POST TEST CASE. I only got £807 out of a possible £1402 but given the test case I thought I'd just accept. I took my argement to the CEO office as I believed my case was wrongly put on hold as I'd posted my letter on good time. This all happened post test case.
My successes so far are: Lloyds £319 claimed £642 but settled through FO
RBS £1042 claimed £1042 settled with them.
RBS £807 claimed £1402 settled with them.

Still to go: Ge money, lloyds cc and capital One. All at various stages. Will keep you posted;)
  • Success post test case through CEO. £807 out of possible £1402. Given the climate at the moment. Took the money gladly. Will put rest down to a lesson in looking after my money better!! This claim was a total surprise as I complained about timescale it took my letter to get through the proper channels. I had already received the on hold letter dated 08/08/07 but argued my case. I had previously received £1027 for our joint act and this was my sole acct.Good luck to everyone else and just PERSEVERE!!!
    :T Thanx Martin:A

I followed MArtins advice some time back but am just now teeling you all about it because I've only just signed up!

    Bank : Lloyds
    Amount claimed : £580
    Amount received : £495

Thank you all and especially Martin!
  • Bank : Royal Bank of Scotland
    Amount claimed : £991
    Amount received : $991

It only took two letters and I had a full refund even though there was some doubt over the current court cases.
A good return on minimal investment.
    Thank you, Martin.

  • Bank - Halifax
    Amount claimed £2655
    Amount Paid - £2455

Followed process with templates from MSE site, got as far as starting procedure for applying online for small claims court, and they offered £2455 and was paid into our account within 14 days.

    :T A very painfree process
  • Thanks Martin - Great result today! £1900 won from Lloyds TSB.

I followed the advice on the site and put a claim in against Lloyds TSB for over £1900.00. I never received an offer from them and struggled to get any form of communication from them.

I went down the small claims track back in March and it has taken time to get sorted.

To cut a long story short, I put my documentation to the court (using the links provided on this site). The bank failed to comply with the deadline set by the court to submit their defence, but followed it up a couple of weeks late with a letter asking the court to stay the charges on the basis of the OFT case.

I turned up at Nuneaton County Court this afternoon and my case lasted no more than 30 seconds!

I said good afternoon to the Judge, he advised me that because the bank had failed to submit a defense, he was awarding judgment in full to me!!!!

Couldn't have done it without the support of you and your members. If I bump into you on the street, I owe you a pint!

I asked for my claim to be look into as a hardship case from Natwest. The ignored me. So I sent the email with all legal jargon stating Social Security Administration Act etc (got off this site). They still ignored me. So I sent this letter every single day for 6 weeks. Still ignored me. I then called the CEO and told them of my story. Obviously this could not have looked good on them because she went away to look into my account and came back saying an offer was in the post. Got the offer yesterday, £1670. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
