  • Bank: Natwest
Claimed: £2811.00 incl interest and court fees
    Received: £2811.00

I have been away for three months in Australia and forgot to post before i went. I took Fattywest all the way to the court. Was panicking a bit as it was 2 days before case and i got a letter from them offering the full amount stating that it was not in their interest to carry on as it would cost more to defend claim than pay out. They wanted me to sign a document to state that i would cancel case. I rang them and said, pay me the money first then i will. Within 3 hours of my phone call the money was transferred to my Lloyds account.

Anyway, keep on going and dont let them intimidate you..

    Good luck to everyone

and a big huge hug and kiss to Martin for this site!

  • Bank HSBC
    Amount claimed 2228.50 (without interest)
    Amount received 1783.30

Started claiming from HSBC in april and finally received an offer on 17th July of £1783.30. I accepted this and was told it would be in by bank within 14 days. The money finally cleared on 5th September.
Thanks for everyone that helped me in this process.
  • Bank: Lloyds Tsb
    Amount Claimed: £650
    Amount Received Back: £750!! :j

I started my claim in June. After sending the threaten to court letter i received a response saying lloyds still felt their charges were fair, but as a goodwill measure they have refunded my £750. More then expected.

Thank you Martin!! I owe you a pint.
  • Capital One Bank
    Claimed £750
    Refunded £750

After submitting MCOL and entering a defence they paid up as a goodwill gesture exactly as Martin said the do. Many thanks Martin
My barclays case was so near to the court stage when all was stopped are there any further thoughts following the Luton case
  • I ran up charges of £175 in ONE WEEK simply by going overdrawn by a few pounds then having direct debits refused etc.

I followed the tips on this web-site and printed off the suggested letters I received a refund of £50 after the first letter then £110 after the second so although I was still £15 out of pocket I felt I had succeeded.

    THANKS MARTIN:j :T:beer:
  • They first offered me £25 in full and final settlement which i turned down and went through MCOL
They Acknowledged the Claim on Monday and i got a letter from Cobbetts on Tuesday saying that the were defending the case and were going to request a Stay..
Today a cheque has arrived for £143.58 in full and final settlement...

So that's LlloydsTSB and RBS won and none lost.....now for the others
  • Bank: Natwest
    Amount Reclaimed: £1,390
    Amount they paid: £1,390
The story: Sent them the standard first letter with a list of the charges. No reply. Sent them an angry reminder stating I was a customer for over 20 years and they offered me repayment in full. They credited my account within one week of me accepting the offer.

Martin et al, thank you for your valuable help. This has enriched my wedding fund for next year!
  • First Direct (HSBC)
    Amt Claimed 1855
    Amt won 1565

Hi, finally got round to writing the the bank in July, sent the letter recorded, had a reply within 3 days offering 1565 as full settlement.
The letter stated that although they did not admit any fault for commercial purposes only (the cost of going to court!) they would pay!

WOW I was gobsmacked and rallied mates around to do the same.

Thanks so much, without this site I would have been none the wiser!
