  • Hi.

At the start of the year i sent letters to HSBC and Abbey. I requested statements and sent payments of £10. (HSBC returned this payment). HSBC sent all statments within the 40 days and in July sent us a letter offering £750 excluding the intrest my hubby and i accepted this payment and sent the form back the same day (this was pre July 27) however when 10 days had lapsed and no payment had arrived i phoned them. I was told that because of the court case we would have to do a new form! So because i had 'phoned' they would send me a new form that day. So we sent that form of and are now still waiting for the payment! I phoned to day as another 14 days have passed. To be told that the system shows that they did recived our form (i knew they had as it was faxed from there branch) but no payment has been issued!

    Now Abbey-What a Joke.

They put of sending our statements, then after 2 months we collated all the details and sent them the letters and so forth, they seemed to drag everything out for as long as possible so that they could pause everything for the court case. They managed to loose things, deny receiving letters so asking for new ones. Put my details on the computer under the wrong reference. I phoned them two weeks ago and was told that they had no record whatsoever of my complaint so i would have to start the whole thing again after January. The funny thing was i found an old reference they had given me so i phoned back (and got the same person who could find no record) When i gave her the reference she looked it up and said, ' oh yes, i found you know there was no account number'. But becaue of the stupidity and delay tactics we now have to wait!

    Bank: - Natwest
    Amount Reclaimed: - £2,666.00
    Amount Repaid: - £2,666.00

Like so mny of us, I got my inspiration for this after seeing Martin on TV. Followed the process back in April and followed it step by step. Receivied an offer for all charges not including interest. Thought about taking them to the cleaners but then news of the "Test Case" emerged and after careful consideration (doing as the wife told me), I accepted.

Cheque arrived this am and has been duly deposited in my bank (not Natwest) account. Another massive step towards becoming debt free by April 2008 and it is all thanks to Martin :money: and the many different individuals post I have read on this site. God bless you all and good look with all your own individual cases.

  • Lloyds TSB
    Claimed: £240
    Paid: £100.05

Wrote to TSB, said that I had all my statements and between 2002 and 2005 (when I closed the credit card account), they had charged me £20 twelve times. They said nothing doing. Wrote again with second template letter, and today they have said they'll pay the difference of £8 times twelve, plus 8% interest, plus 14 days interest at 5.75% while I think about it!
I didn't think about it for long!
