Bank: HSBC
Amount Reclaimed: £1991
Amount they paid: £1991
The story:
I forwarded all of the details on to my sister who sent the first letter to HSBC. She's pretty bad with money (as you can see from the amount reclaimed), but they paid out after about 8 weeks.
I've got a feeling that when they get the letter in the format Martin Lewis has written they know that the individual will follow the process to the letter and just pay out.
So thank you!

I received my offer letter on Saturday 14th, quickly filled in the acceptance and posted it recorded delivery that morning.
I checked online yesterday and it had been delivered to Borehamwood on the 16th.
I rang Natwest today to ask how long it would take for the money to be in my account, i was told it could take up to 10 days and just to keep checking my account.
At the end of the call i thanked her for the way she had dealt with me and asked that she pass my thanks on to the team who dealt with my claim because everyone that has dealt with me has been great, really courteous and helpful. She was really chuffed and said she would pass my comments on to the team dealing with my refund.
I've just checked my account again..... and the money is there!!!

Bank Barclays
Amount requested - £1,455
Amount refunded - £1,090
My Story - :j
I first contacted my branch early in May 07 using Martins letter and requested my last 6 years worth of bank statements posting with it a cheque for £10. They replied about 2 weeks later saying that the statements were on the way and that it would cost £5 so they sent my cheque back too.
I recieved my statements a few days later and quickly added up what I was owed. I printed of Martins letter and requested £1,455 charges. the bank wrote to me achknowledging my letter and telling me they would hopefully have a reply for me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I recieved another letter saying that they were still looking into it and would reply to me wsithin 4 weeks umm I thought !!!!
But no sinicle me was wrong !!! and last Thursday I recieved a letter saying that although the bank wern't admitting responsability and didn't agree with me they would like to make a goodwill guesture and refund me £1,090. I won thankyou :money: you are fab. Really chuffed :beer:0 -
