Putting rubbish in other peoples bins?

I don't really see the problem with people topping up bins which have already been put out for the bin men - its better than my neighbour who puts his excess out in plastic bags which then get ripped open by the foxes and strewn all over the neighbourhood. Indeed, I've made the offer.
I'd feel rather more aggrieved if they came into my garden to put their rubbish in!
What if you need to add more to your own bin? and more importantly we have different bins where i live so different things go in each so if someone put food waste in the paper/plastic bin then the bin men can refuse to take it. It would be more polite to ask someone if they can use it rather than just dumping it in.0 -

I agree that people shouldn't put the wrong things in someone else's bin. However I see nothing wrong with putting rubbish in a bin already out for collection on the pavement. As I said though my bin is never full so no needLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I wont have wheelie bins on my property, so all my rubbish goes in neighbours bins.0

My neighbour was having work done on their house and I found building rumble in my bin in a black sack just about holding onto the contents - if they asked I would have said yes but the worse thing was that theirs was not full!!
Another time they cut part of my hedge (which was in need of a pruing) only because they parked their second car next to it on the pavement - then put the cuttings in my garden waste bin....0 -
You lot want to count yourselves lucky, we don't even have bins! Ok so there's a garden/green waste bin and a box for glass, but for everything else the council provide coloured recycling binbags and if it's non-recycling you fend for yourself in terms of bags.
I'd never seen so many foxes until I moved here. Every single bin day I see at least one bag that's been ripped open.
Where I lived previously, one of the neighbours kept putting their non-recycling rubbish into our recycling bin, causing us to get a snotty letter from the council threatening to fine us. Wish I'd found out which neighbour was doing it, I'd have dumped it back on their doorstep.0 -
Around here we are not allowed to put cat litter in our bin. It is included in the list of things they will not collect (along with batteries, building waste, electricals etc). Whilst the other things there are places to take these to dispose of correctly I am not sure what people with cats (myself included - I am lucky mine very rarely uses the tray) are suppose to do with the waste?0

Put the litter waste into bags (shopping carrier bags will do, double-bag if necessary) and put those bags in the bin.0

When I first moved here the neighbours across the street stole our bin. We got another. Now our next door neighbours fill up our bin so we don't have space for our own stuff. Both bins btw. Which sucks because we end up having to throw away recycling to make it all fit.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. I hate the fortnightly collections with a passion, we often have a bag or so extra and it has to sit outside the main bin, which is unsightly until that is emptied and then put into the empty bin to stew until the next collection, often by then it really stinks and is extremely unpleasant. I really don't see why they are so strict and can't take a bag or two extra if people are obviously struggling. Some people have large families, babies and animals.
Sometimes the people opposite us will let us put a bag in thiers but we often don't catch them, I don't think I could bring myself to put any bags in someone else's bin without asking. If mine were half empty I have to say I wouldn't mind if someone put some bags in mine as long as the lid can close and it isn't anything you're not meant to put in there!0
