One you've been given something as a gift it becomes your property.

If you lose it you have to buy a new one.

Not here you don't, replacements are free.

I must admit that I have invested in a bin lock. I was getting sick and tired of not being able to get my rubbish in my bin, 2 days after it had been emptied. I live in a top floor flat and having to trail my rubbish down and then back up again really peed me off.

I would have emptied their crap out of it, but they didn't even use a bin bag, yuk. Someone even had the cheek to leave a note on my bin telling me I was a smart b itch and if I didn't remove it I would get it shoved up my a r s e.
    Smile, you are beautiful:)

Occasionally we miss the bin (very occasionally). I'll stack mine to the rafters while it's outside the house and put bags into my emptier green recycling bin but when bin day comes get up super early and put the excess in the emptiest looking bin on the street! (the ones that are already put out ready for collection).

At the end of the day, when my bin isn't full I couldn't care less if people do this. I'd be annoyed if someone did it before bin day though (which they wouldn't as the bin is behind a locked gate so not accessible to anyone but myself and my direct neighbour who lives alone and doesn't have much rubbish ever!)

We missed the bin recently and my partner was accosted by the elderly bloke next door asking what day bin day was almost like a little test!!

Same here, we had one of our black bins nicked (we're a block of 3 flats, so one bin per flat) and the council were fairly prompt in replacing it, free of charge. :)

I've got a bin lock, and it's chained to the wall, mainly as I live on the same road as a school.

One of my neighbours often asks to chuck a few bags in there (she's got young kids) and I don't mind, but I would be annoyed if someone did it without asking.

Our bins belong to the council, so they're not technically ours at all, but I wouldn't ever use someone else's bin, it just seems rude. Often on dustbin day, I'll be walking home on the school run with the dog and a bagged turd in the other hand, wishing I could ditch it in one of the hundred bins I've walked past, but you just can't, it doesn't seem right.

When I was at college me and my mates use to put like a crisp packet or something in someone elses bin because college were bad for emptying the bins out but I would never put anything like a vacuum cleaner in someone elses bin
