Finding this forum has made me feel a little better. Did my renewal over the phone 10 weeks ago, only change is that my earnings for 2012/2013 with £2,400 higher. When I rang I was told 8 weeks and not to phone. I followed up after week 8 and was told they had till the 5th July to complete the renewal. I rang again today and was told it still hadn't been done and had been passed to another team and I would get a call in 2 weeks.

Am still getting the same monthly payment, which really worries me as I feel I will have an overpayment to clear.

Being a single parent and on a very low wage I rely on this support heavily and am losing sleep and feel sick with worry, all because they are taking too long to sort this out.

I do not have any child care costs so from my point of view no checks to be done?

What adds insult to the injury is a friend of mine who's husband is self employed, rang a week after me and got her notice 2 weeks later! Go figure???????

They give us deadlines to fill these things in and threaten us if we don't and I comply all the way, yet we have accept the fact they can leave us in limbo :(
  • Thank you to Taylorlou for the phone number your provided. I have spoken to a very helpful lady, who was in the childcare assessment team but she took the time to listen to me and looked up my file.

She rang me back within ten minutes to explain that my renewal had been flagged up to check my working hours, even though there had been no big changes. However she couldn't tell me much more as the notes were unnamed. However had escalated it to her manager and they were going to try and find out more.

She called me back again within ten minutes to explain what had happened.

When I rang with my P60 figures back in mid April, I reconfirmed all my other information was correct, I was then randomly picked for a check and my file was flagged. However my file had not been passed to anyone and it has been sitting there all this time.

Shocking to think I have chased this 3 times now and just been given the brush off from the Helpdesk number and a good job I continued to chase it as obviously there will be some sort of overpayment.

The lady assured me that due to this break down in communication within their departments, they have now lifted the flag and for this year will not be checked.

I did say I was willing to send over a copy of my contract to show my hours but she said that this was not necessary.

She said I should have a letter confirming my new award within the next week.

I will post to let you know of what effect this delay will have on my award. But for now I feel less sick about what is going on :T

Dragonfly, woohoo!! At least it's all sorted!! Bet you feel relieved?

I called up again yesterday and the man was very rude, told me to stop calling! I've only called three times including yesterday, told me I just had to wait for my award!! How long is this going to take? Do I keep calling or stop now?
I did speak to my nursery today and they haven't called regarding my childcare so what is the holdup?

Hi Coffeelover, I have been looking through this forum for the past couple of weeks to see if anyone else had not received their renewal pack and am now pleased to see that my daughter is not the only one. I am her representative because she has special needs and her circumstances have not changed in the past two years. I rang them two weeks ago and after keeping me on hold while they spoke to their supervisor/manager was told to expect something in the post within 14 days. We were really worried as they would not give a reason why we had not received the renewal.
I rang again yesterday and spoke to a lovely lady. She said there were technical problems and not to worry. I said we were going on holiday next week and we don't want the payments to stop because my daughter had not signed by 31st July.
I have spoke to a few people and they all agreed they don't know what they are doing up there.
Hope they get themselves sorted soon!

Anyone having the same problem as me im ringing the compliance team number have done for 2 days and getting dead tone..

All i want to know is have they re looked at my childcare and corrected they re mistake
  • Hi all,

I sent my renewal back around 6 weeks ago, I called this morning and was told that it had been received and I should hear from them by 29 July 2013, it had not been processed however would be shortly, however if I receive money in meantime then no need to call them. I assumed from that conversation that everything okay and should be processed shortly.

My Wife called me an hour later to advise that they have sent a letter asking for more information about her previous address? I included all relevant information with the renewal.

I called CTC people again and told them that I do not understand why I have received this letter given that I what I was told this morning. Women was as helpful as chocolate fire guard, I suspect that we are due a backpayment and I queried whether this would hold this up, she did not know. I asked if it would take another 6-8 weeks when I sent the form back, again she said she did not know.

So my question is should I expect another long wait before an award notice/any backdated payment? Or will a request for further information be treated as a higher priority than a standard renewal form?

    Any help appreciated.
