  • In my experience anyone told 6 weeks will be fine.
People told 8 weeks are having extra checks.

The people told 8 weeks have markers on there file to not allow automatic renewals.

Try not to worry, i have an overpayment mine took 10 weeks but im paying in back over time.

    Thanks

Thanks georgiasdragon. I feel anxious because i am worrying about finances, just recovered from a nervous breakdown and it seems this is making me relapse. I think because i always wait for the january deadline never give final figures this time of year so was not sure of waiting times etc. so six weeks is the norm i need to chill out abit xxx

Hi, I renewed on 19th April, 4 weeks later got a letter asking for childcare receipts. I then sent all my childcare info and they recieved it by 4th June. I spoke to them nearly 2 weeks ago and they said they recived everything and hadn't looked at mine yet but would do soon and would here within a week. Still heard nothing, know I haven't over claimed but what is frustrating is that they won't finalise my renewal until checks have been done and I think I'm due an underpayment as I overestimated my income. Sick of waiting and fed up of calling. My usual payments are going in as normal but last year was checked and took 5 months from start to finish...just hope after this time they are done checking me as I'm always honest with the information I provide them.:mad
  • Hello

I kept chasing compliance every few days and in the end she grabbed my file while s she was on the phone and put it to the top of the pile and checked she had everything.

She rang me back within the hour with the outcome.

Then two days later i rang the normal helpline to find out all the payments and overpayments etc.

Ive still not had paperwork though so hoping it comes today or tomorrow as it was finalised monday.
I also renewed 29th April had childcare letter 4th June and sent all stuff straight back, 10 weeks in all i think.

    Thanks

one more thing from the date they receive your paper work back they have 4 weeks to finalise your review. So it should be sorted by now!

Hi georgiasdragons, have they also finalised your renewal?
  • Hi I had to send a years worth of child care receipts to compliance, they received all my paperwork beginning of June, I rang them last week and its all been checked and came back ok, I was worried I may of been overpaid but the lady I spoke to said it was all ok, just waiting for paperwork to be sent back and a final award for tax credits. I got checked last year too and it took longer but had to send all sorts of paperwork last year. Hopefully everyone else will be checked soon, keep on ringing them every couple of weeks for an update.

2011/2012 total income 6121 Set up business no earnings for husband
    2012/2013 total income 22012

In Absence of a letter i have no idea what is going!!
  • Hi everyone, been reading this post and sounds similar to what I'm going through at the moment...

Renewed my tax credits on 12th April, was told not to contact them before 1st July!!!
Called them and its still processing, I haven't received any letters for more info and they haven't told me this either when I have called.
There is no changes to my claim, earned the same as last year, just don't understand why it's took so long.
I'm now into week 13 with still no answer apart from I'll get a call within 2 weeks but from the sound of things no one is getting this call back. Just getting fed up with waiting now!
I've called them on 1st July, 8th July, should I call them back on 15th? Or wait for this call?

Any help or advice would be greatly received :)
