Is 6 weeks a normal time to wait for final decision on tax credits? many thanks in advanced does anyone know? xxx0

Thank you for your reply welshone1. I was told yesterday not to call back until 19th august (6 weeks) so i am guessing that i would have been told longer if they are doing additional checks, i have no worries with them checking could just do without the headache right now just recovered from a long illness.0

Was told 8 weeks but didn't know about the childcare checks until a letter popped through the door bout 4 weeks later. So yes very very stressful.0 -
Blimey it seems that they target the people with child care. I know their checks are important which i appreciate but, it is hard enough for people working juggling kids and worrying about child care without all that headache. At least it all worked out okay for you in the end.0

Thanks again for your help
Spoke to tax credits, my award has been finalised my overpayment was £1900 i am paying back £190 a month for 10 months.
If i want to appeal they need too much information so not going to bother just want closure now.
At least i know its correct going forward!0 -

Presumably only if your estimate turns out to be accurate otherwise you will fall into the same problem next year.
All you need to file an appeal is a letter which states the date of decision, your details and why you want to appeal. No more than a page.
I would urge other people to appeal if they are reading this, especially for amounts as high as £2000.

Anyone had to wait longer than the 6 weeks that they were told? i am so anxious regarding the over payment that i might have making me feel ill. Anyone experienced the 6 weeks wait? and then told it will take longer? i want to work my budgets out and getting very stressed. xxx0
