Hi. Wondering if anyone is in the same position as me. Sent renewal away on 1st may, rec by tax credits on 3rd May, called about 4 weeks later was told it was being processed through normal checks and to call back after 6 weeks, called back after 6 weeks to be told it was having additional checks and to call back after 8 weeks! Did not require any info as checks were being done with our departments of HMRC, can only expect this to be paye etc? Called back this Saturday 29/6/13 to be told my claim had not gone through, lady tried to transfer me to " relevant department " after no luck took a contact number and told me she would email my details across as my claim was in a work list which they were behind on and they would get to me eventually!! Has anyone else had this? My biggest concern is I will be getting overpaid right now as income has increased by £5K! No other changes! Ps. I suffer from extreme anxiety and do not cope well with uncertainty! xx

I phoned up to renew on Monday and I have had two payments made into my account today - both from tax credits and 1 of them is more than my usual amount.
I take it they have been renewed?

Do they not disregard the first £5,000 increase anyway?

That is quick, i tried to do mine over the phone but could never get through so sent my paper copy off on 24th June, not even 2 weeks yet, but I am not panicking. They will sort it.

I thought that too! I always renew mine over the phone and it usually takes 10-14 days but this has to be the quickest ever! Hope you get yours sorted soon.

Not sure if they disregard first 5k, I used the calculator and apparently my payments should been cut by about £40 a week, it's the fact this will be back dated to April that is concerning me. I just hope it doesn't take much longer!

Renewed over the phone approx 12 days ago - confirmation/next year's estimates through the post today. All correct. They can do it!

After a 9 week wait and a random check of the bank this morning I had a random payment from TC yesterday. Hopefully this means my renewal has been dealt with and my award notice arrives soon!
  • My review by compliance is being worked on today. She said once she has reviewed my childcare information she will ammend my award and remove the marker off my renewal to be finalised.

So hopefully 10 weeks on i will know the outcome!
