  • She'd boy

Do you work for tax credits can you help me with the above
Am I doing it wrong from last April to thus April

I average out over the year

But school hols it's normally 220 a week but for 9 months of the last financial year my son went to nursery then he started school so my fees dropped I'm confused
  • Ok for this year April onwards I'm using the holiday club 14 weeks a year at 220 a week divided by 52 weeks is 59 a week average.
But what happens if I don't send them for one week or two if I have time off to look after them. I've over estimated this year havnt I. But is rather claim than not cause they won't give me the money back the end of the year if I've spent more.

    Someone enlighten me

Hello I rang the unhelpful line and was told it wss sent out on the 26th also!! and that I should allow 14 days for it to reach me!! Royal mail can get things delivered in a matter of hours...why does it take 2 weeks for the renewal packs!! shambles is what it is....I will be ringing them back next week if its still not arrived as they need to extend by deadline! there is no way it will be processed by the end of July!! very cross!

You are asked to allow up to 2 weeks for it to be delviered. Not it WILL take 2 weeks.
As for the deadline being extended, that will be possible if you receive it within an unreasonable timeframe.

In that situation, if you miss a week or two you dont need to inform them as it would not alter your award. So if you are paying 59 a week and you miss 2 weeks thats 118. Ave over the year is only 2.00 and as that is less than 10.00 a week there is no need to inform TC. IF you change or end the CC then you call them, but for the sake of a week or two its not a change that would need to be made.

Thanks Dave...I know it CAN TAKE up to 2 weeks and thats what I should allow..my question was tongue in cheek. ...as I just don't understand WHY it has to be so slow. And, yes I will be requesting an extention as we are now a week into that 2 weeks delivery allowance.

Try using the calculator here: Print a copy of the pages and keep them then if you are challenged again you can use it to show how you calculated.

    https://www.gov.uk/childcare-costs-for-tax-credits

That is an official HMRC calculator. Shedboy might find it useful to have a look at it as well.

What if I miss the two weeks that are 220 a week so 440 total. Because 38 weeks a year now is zero but 14 weeks a year is 220 a week
Sorry if I sound silly I know I've been overpaid for last year I just want to get it right thus year

I may have misunderstood this but if you have a 59.00 average for the year, then the 220.00 is void as your new costs are effectivly 59.00
