I had a change of cicumstance at end of april notified tax credit by letter as coulnt get through of phone (says we cannot take you call - call back later).....nothing so on 18 may i moved house in with my partner (another change of circumstance....again tried to phone and got same message ring back later. So i sent another letter recorded del asking for a new claim form as circumstance changed. They got the letter on the 24th and stopped my payments. Still no form. So i rang and rang everyday still same message cant take call - call back later!! So i sent yet another recorded letter and they recieved it on 10th june.....still nothing not even an acknowledgement they have recieved and still no form. So i called everyday again...i finally got through on 18th june!!! Since then we had another change of circumstance in employment....for 5 weeks we have lived soley on my partners single jsa claim £70 - as everything stopped when i moved in with him and waited to be added to his claim......we recieved one jsa payment of the correct amount for family and no tax credit or hb.....we had another change of the 17th where he started work...everything stopped yet again and still no tax credit for 5 weeks!! The guy on the phone seemed asleep and just kept repeating " you must notify us of change of circumstance straight away!! aggghhhhhh!!! he said it could take upto 4 weeks to process from when i get the form (still not recieved). jsa dropped like a hot rock, still not had anything from them as a final payment, they said back to work bonus stopped 1st april...hb still in someones office so now behind with rent and to top it all my partners work is a week in hand! The whole system is in meltdown, none of them know what they are doing! god forbid anyone who actually tries to get on and has a change of circumstance!!!
UPDATE - finally recieved new claim form yesterday after a wait of 5 weeks!! Did have to call them (40 min wait on phone to ans) again and was informed that form can take 2 weeks to arrive! I asked that as it wasnt my fault they couldnt put a form in an envelope would i get it all backdated - ans no only up to 4 weeks backdated! - wonder what happens to my other 9 or so weeks tax credit (by the time they sorted it out!!)0 -
Had my letter from compliance this morning, have to ring them again as they have missed off 130 off the month of July for childcare fees, this is partly nursery fault as well as they have put that I paid 130 by voucher which is not the case. This is just a nightmare from beginning to end. Also the start of the letter says we are unable to except your explanation , I ask myself what explanation you have not asked for anything. Never been so stressed .
Georgiasdragon have u heard anything yet ?0 -
Still nothing heard by me yet, on the plus side it means no compliance letter has dropped through the door yet.........
So am I right in my thinking the following;
If my renewal goes through then because of the increases to the allowances, I get that money backdated to April?0 -
No news for me either!
I am dreading it to be honest. I am already struggling financially.
But I know my next month tax credit will be lower just don't know how much and I need to try and work my finances out so wish they'd hurry up and send my overpayment.
So are they going to look welsh one at your explanation ?0 -
Nothing from me either, called them this morning and they received my renewal on May 4th so they said to wait another week then call them again!
The advisor also kindly told me I apparently owe them £4.400 from 2010! How is it possible that this is the first time I have heard of this? I have worked for the last 8 years non stop other than 3 months in between jobs in 2010!0 -
Has anyone who has childcare on their claim had a straightforward renewal i.e. no compliance letter and straightforward renewal? Just wondered if they are checking 100% of childcare people at renewal or staggering it.....0

Two of my friends have had no trouble renewing with childcare.
One of them her childcare ended December anyway so no current childcare.
The other one is only very small amount 30£ a week.
But when i renewed 29th April i was told 8 weeks processing due to extra checks, i think the ones that are being checked are the ones who received there renewal forms in April giving compliance plenty of time to review them Cause both my friends had theres end May and have been processed already.0 -
Mine is only £40 per week - Ive got 3 children - one is a baby just 3 months old -
I was told 6 weeks from the date they rec'd the form as I posted it -
But Ive still not heard anything - its been 4 weeks now -
I got my form 1st June - posted straight back immediately - I wonder if they have a threshold for the checks at renewal and randomly check the other lower amounts through the year maybe....0 -

I bet you will be ok if you you were told 6 weeks.
I rang after 4 weeks and was warned the compliance letter was on its way still took 3 weeks to turn up! Now just waiting while they review my childcare invoices0 -

I have been told 6 weeks once I called straight on 19/04 when my renewal arrived. It will be 10 weeks tomorrow and no answer. Called already three times to check. Aparently my claim stuck somewhere in the system and they chasing it up. I have no idea what is going on as none of the people told me. No letter or phone calls from anybody. They must be busy this year!0
