My husband rang today as the 8 weeks was up and we've not had our final award for 12/13, and they were like 'whoopsie daisy for some reason you are still down as estimated for that period' and after my husband stopped exploding and peeled himself off the ceiling (as during other 'helpful' chats with them it was made damn clear by himself that the figures were correct and accurate, not estimated, and that was after they 'lost' the figures the first 2 times we gave them to them, over the phone and by post) he explained to them, in a way Glaswegians know best, that they really should sort that out rather quickly and change it to 'not at all estimated, infact completely historically accurate' or he would be even more displeased.....

So they said it 'should' be sorted within a couple of weeks, maybe, if they don't royally !!!! it up again.....
There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.

    Hi there,
As far as I know as long as your renewal is logged on their system then your payments will continue.
I did my renewal 9 weeks ago and have not been asked as of yet to provide any information and im still waiting.
It is very frustrating isn't it.
Hope you get sorted out soon

Thank you for reply glad my payments wont stop, so frustrating nt knowin what payments will be 4 the year and it makes me feel like I have done something wrong! Hopefully we will all be sorted soon im trying not to stress :-(
  • I had a change of cicumstance at end of april notified tax credit by letter as coulnt get through of phone (says we cannot take you call - call back later).....nothing so on 18 may i moved house in with my partner (another change of circumstance....again tried to phone and got same message ring back later. So i sent another letter recorded del asking for a new claim form as circumstance changed. They got the letter on the 24th and stopped my payments. Still no form. So i rang and rang everyday still same message cant take call - call back later!! So i sent yet another recorded letter and they recieved it on 10th june.....still nothing not even an acknowledgement they have recieved and still no form. So i called everyday again...i finally got through on 18th june!!! Since then we had another change of circumstance in employment....for 5 weeks we have lived soley on my partners single jsa claim £70 - as everything stopped when i moved in with him and waited to be added to his claim......we recieved one jsa payment of the correct amount for family and no tax credit or hb.....we had another change of the 17th where he started work...everything stopped yet again and still no tax credit for 5 weeks!! The guy on the phone seemed asleep and just kept repeating " you must notify us of change of circumstance straight away!! aggghhhhhh!!! he said it could take upto 4 weeks to process from when i get the form (still not recieved). jsa dropped like a hot rock, still not had anything from them as a final payment, they said back to work bonus stopped 1st april...hb still in someones office so now behind with rent and to top it all my partners work is a week in hand! The whole system is in meltdown, none of them know what they are doing! god forbid anyone who actually tries to get on and has a change of circumstance!!!

I rang the tax credit renewals on 13th June, and i have received 2 payments in my bank account this morning, that i assume are provisional payments, they over estimated my income from 2012/13 by over £2,000, will that mean i will get a separate back pay payment to come?

over estimated as this is what your income was the year before?

    I.e. in 2011 - 2012 you earned 10,000 but in 2012 - 2013 you earned 8000 ?

They estimated me in 2011/12 to earn just over £11,000, but in actual fact when i received my P60 i earned £8996. So that makes me think that I might be due some back payment.

I thought that they disregarded the first £2500 of any income changes. If this is the case then there wouldn't be an underpayment.

Oh right I never knew that, i got two small payments in my bank account today, but the past couple of years i have had 2 small payments then a much bigger amount paid in, i just assumed that they haven't finalized my claim yet so i assumed i was due some more money.

Nope. You've fallen into the same unfortunate circumstance as me with this disregard rule. :(.
