You should ring them and ask.
It may not be selected some renewals seem to just get stuck in the system.
My friends self emp check was she had to prove invoices and hours. Some people get asked for utitily bills bank statements etc.

Well I can prove invoices as I have them from my suppliers, plus receits for everything I have bought but how do you prove hours??? I know I need to do 16 hours a week to qualify but how do I prove that? I make collectors dolls houses, which involves all the decorating etc but how can I prove the hours spent on wallpapering for example??

Think I might give them a ring, its just I don't want to get their backs up after they said 4 to 6 weeks when I renewed.
  • There was a lady on here who had her payments reduced by £100 a week when she rang to find out why it was because she had not replied to her complaince letter they sent in April.

So what would worry me is trusting Royal Mail post.
Things do go missing so i would chase.

I rang after 30 days to ask why id only received a provisonal thats when they told me i had a compliance letter on the way.

Please can you help me? I've tried phoning 03000526540 (the compliance number I was given) for weeks now to find out if they have received my childcare information but it is constantly engaged whatever time of the day or night I try.

Which number are you all phoning to get all of this information?

Any help or advice will save me from more sleepless nights!

Iv been calling 03000551539 and theres a message sayin they cant take calls at the moment, this is really stressin me out its been 8wks since I renewed and 5weeks since sendin off invoices and contract and iv herd nothing! All I want to know is whether or nt theyve received my information they requested! Whenever I call tax cred helpline they say they cant help as its a totally diff department! As its been 8wks does this mean my payments will stop?

    Any advice would ve grateful

I did my renewal about a week ago and got my letter this morning. Have a large childcare cost but separated from my OH back in January so probably didn't get checked as it is a new claim from January as a single person I presume.

    Hi there,
As far as I know as long as your renewal is logged on their system then your payments will continue.
I did my renewal 9 weeks ago and have not been asked as of yet to provide any information and im still waiting.
It is very frustrating isn't it.
Hope you get sorted out soon

How many hrs do you claim to work?

I just rang the helpline to see if they could tell me if my renewal had been done, or sent to compliance. I followed all the correct prompts until it got to one asking if it had been less than 8 weeks since I called or sent something. I selected yes as it is just under 4 weeks.
    The message I got was;
It is taking up to 8 weeks to process these claims because it is less than 8 weeks since you last called, our advisors can't tell you anymore, so don't ring back again until it is after 8 weeks. Goodbye!

The only bit they needed to add was Anne Robinsons voice saying, You are the weakest link................

So that was a complete waste of time, it seems the only way for me to get through will be to give incorrect responses, in which case they will no doubt tell me they can't help me because I am speaking to the wrong department.

I work between 16 to 20 hours per week. Sometimes it might be a few hours more but so far I have worked at least 16 hours every week, which is what I said I would be doing when I started last December and also when I renewed my tax credit claim.

I don't count things like doing my accounts, or sourcing materials at the right price, as I do most of that when I am sat on an evening. I know I can include that as part of my working week but I choose not to.
