OK, phone the number I quoted earlier and say you want a discount. You can go to option 1 and get a discount...I would guess at a three quid discount as what would be offered.
You dont need option 2 looking at your usage, so just get teh best discount on 1 they will give you. :)

Thanks Drunkstar, phoned today, staying on option 2 but 5 quid cheaper, £17-99 I'm happy with that, once again many thanks you are a star.:j

I'm on option 1 and am constantly going over the 5GB limit and being charged 30p/GB but it still works out cheaper than upgrading to option 2. I'm out of my minimum term is there anything BT can offer?

Ring number mentioned above, ask for disocunt. You will probably be offered either option 2 at the price of 1, or £4 off the option 1.

    Hope that helps.

Hey Drunkster that info sounds really useful. I would like to clarify a couple of things if u could help me though!

I am currently on BT option 1 and out of the contract period. I would like to upgrade to option 3.

    1) When u say call the number and option 2 - do u mean press option 2 or ask for option 2 (eg BT option 2) LOL!

    2) Just so I get this right - does the general conversation go: "Im out of contract - would like to upgrade and stay on 12 month contract but I want a discount on price offered"? (Do I mention other people getting £5 discounts)

    3) Am I right in thinking they'll offer the phone with the hub (and or the BT visual thing). OR do I have to press for these things.

Thanks for your help (or anybody else who can help)!

    Cheers :)

the discount you gte depends on teh atriff you are on and what you are moving to. Option 3 from option 1 I dont belive will give you a discount. Though IF you are lucky and take an 18month contract the manager may let you have the first 6 months free. Though thast an individual choice depending on circu, mstances.

Oh yeah, and press for option 2. :P

The hub and vision should be offered to you on the call.

  • Drunkstar - a star indeed.

I am moving house and currently have Virgin (ex TWst) BB and phone, new house doesn't have cable but has BT line. So I'm going to be a new customer, Wife at home during day so looking at all inclusive calls and need BB but just for surfing/emails. Whats our best option and can I beat the online deals if I phone up rather than order online. I've already spoke to BT to arrange our number being transferred (hoping to move 14/06), but only comitted to option 1, as I may use virgin for BB & calls depending on BT prices.

    Thanks in advance

The online deals for new customers are the best as the equipment is either free or cheaper than if you ordered over the phone.

What did you want to get out of the BB? How often will you us eit? Downloading or not? Wireless?

For cheapest call package using BT see: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1598074#post1598074

Then just add your preferred Broadband Supplier.
