Daughter being bullied at school and via the internet

I would think showering twice a day is a bit excessive unless there are special circumstances.0

You can get the attachments that fit over the bath taps for about 7.50 on ebay. There could be many reasons why its not practical for someone to have a bath every day, cost perhaps if someone is on a low income and yes the kids needs should come first but there could be valid reasons.
I dont wash my hair every day as an adult and Im not sure I did as a teenager either. Neither did I bathe twice a day, I didnt ever have a BO problem though.
But Im not sure excessive washing would be the answer either. It can actually make a BO problem worse apparently

I have no idea what to advise except rule out a medical problem, get the mixer taps for the bath if its practical and try and let her have a shower as often as she needs.
Or take her somewhere where she can use public shower facilities, swimming for example. I dont have a shower in my flat and I dont like baths so I use the showers at the local gym.
Strip washing in front of a family member would have been my idea of hell as a teenager.0 -

While I do it because I need to, I would caveat it can be very drying to the skin and if a teen girl is needing to do this to control BO in a normal lifestyle then I would certainly include a trip to the doctors to rule out any more sinister causes.
Sadly, my experience has been that around 90% of teenagers do need to shower twice daily - bodily secretions are at their maximum. It's not the application of soap or shower gel that is so important as the water rinsing over the skin that helps. Again, overuse of perfumed soap/shower gel can exacerbate the odour.0 -

Has she started shaving under her arms yet? If she hasn't then anti perspirant may not be able to get onto the actual skin to do its job.
So that is why boys are so smelly. Sorry, that is a ridiculous thing for you to write. I agree with you agreeing with Dandelion but shaving is not necessary.0 -

Well, I have limits experience of teenaged bodies. So I defer to your greater knowledge. But I do worry that while I think the post I made at 12:51 (cannot see post number
) is right, I would be wary of establishing a routine that was to the opposite extreme. Certainly a shower/bath and a wash.
For some very regular hair washing could be creating problems. Perhaps the real key is in teaching her to understand her own body and to adapt...it's requirements will shift throughout her life, over her month and over years.0 -
my teenage daughter is very sporty and has a bath or shower daily uses Sure deodrant she always puts clean underwear on and clean clothes and fresh deodrant
Unless clothes are clean then they smell even if you wash.
Light material tops allows air to cool armpits - maybe using babywipes to wash in day then using fresh deodrant amy help
As for bullies I hate them and luckily my daughter knows martial arts so she has confidence to confront them and isnt a victim0 -
Poor girl, I hope the OP is taking all the good advice given on board0
-
If underarm hair is thick enough and long enough then it will make any BO problems worse and I would agree in that case with the recommendation of removal.
Keeping clean and fresh is alot harder with lots of thick body hair in the way!0 -
Coo-eee!! Where are you OP?
Busy posting everywhere but here. How odd.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

They weren't planning on being told they had to do something to help their child - they were asking for confirmation they were right about the data protection aspect.
Hopefully, they'll be out buying the appropriate equipment for the poor kid to improve her personal hygiene.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
