Daughter being bullied at school and via the internet
Comments
-
The school said they would have all the kids involved in to 'talk' about internet bullying.
We are on our daughters account and we have blocked these other kids. She has to be in the room to use the internet and she can't use it in her room as I took the wireless adapter out of her laptop and she has a d-link usb wireless adapter which stays with me or her mum when she isn't in the room with us.
It isn't practical at the moment to have a bath everyday and we don't have a shower. She has a full strip wash every morning and at night (on the nights she doesn't have a bath) with her Mum so we know she has one and doesn't just run the tap.
She uses 24 hours anit-persperant and tops up during the day.
She has a new school shirt on everyday, but she only has 2 school jumpers, owing to the fact they are almost £20 each. She has them on for 2 days max.
Perhaps Mitchum might be an idea? I perspire a lot unfortunately (doctor thinks it's a nervous system reaction) even in winter and find it helps somewhat. Might be a placebo but it makes me feel better. I'm slightly different in that there's no smell for me, just flushing and perspiration. (sorry, TMI :rotfl: )http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EndecaSearchListerView?storeId=10052&langId=-1&catalogId=11051&stReq=1&searchTerm=mitchum&newDepSearch=&x=-889&y=-64#container
There might be others too but I haven't as yet looked at them but will come summer - http://www.boots.com/en/Toiletries/Deodorants/Problem-Perspiration
A talk with the GP might help rule out any other causes too

As long as you wash properly every day so that its clean, underarm hair will make no difference. Telling a young girl she should start shaving and get into the bizarre lifelong ritual of constant hair removal so many women are sucked into is not a good idea.
Actually I didn't say she should start shaving; what I said was:If underarm hair is thick enough and long enough then it will make any BO problems worse and I would agree in that case with the recommendation of removal.
That's not telling someone to start shaving as you suggest I did.
Hair removal is a very personal choice and some people get sucked into the idea that "natural" equals good.0 -
Hi again OP,
Can I just suggest that you email (don't ring or write, create a trail of evidence by emailing) the headteacher asking for a copy of the school's anti bullying policy?* The school is obliged by law to have one and perhaps a good look at it will show you how they should be addressing the problems your daughter is having. It also might remind the school of their duty of care towards your daughter. I hope she is ok.
Best wishes
MsB
*can't remember if this has been suggested already, apologies if so.0 -

Yes, it should be. But I think it's more likely these days that girls (and the boys too!) are pressured into removing every last pube from their body. You hear boys saying stuff like "girls are not supposed to have hair there".
I'd think it's very unusual for a youngster to decide to go natural, but I could be wrong.0 -
Fair enough jej, I was thinking more of the hairy places that are on a regular public display lol and I was originally talking about underarm hair specifically.
I personally find the trend of being bare "down there" very bizarre- i'm in my mid 20's. When you're a young kid that is normal but when you are an adult why would you wish to appear like a kid if you get me... there is keeping hair there under control and then there is going bare
Apologies for taking the thread rather OT!0 -

Surely it's just the current fashion rather than being pressured?0 -

I've had everything but a landing strip lasered off. I shower with my toddler daughter, but its likely that she'll grow up seeing that as normal and what happens to her as abnormal. :-/. I'm quite happy for her to do what she liked with her own hair when she's old enough to grow it!!!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
OP when I was a teen we didn't have a shower but in the mornings before school I used to fill a bucket with hot water and use a jug to pour water over my self and have a proper wash. It's just as good as a shower.
Yes but we have moved on since then and dont have to live like that anymore.Thank God. A few years before that people had tin baths and thought that was adequate.
All the adults I know have a bath or shower everyday. The only people I know who have strip washes have disabilities which stop them climbing into the bath.0 -
No, not everybody showers every single day. It's not usually necessary.0
