Or spelling. That's a good thing to concentrate on.

Regardless, I hope you sort things out with your son PP and that your little girl is feeling ok.

Just out of interest, who are you expecting to wave a magic wand and make the problems disappear?

    A magic wand?

Nobody has one of those, but I've seen lots of young people helped by CAMHS. Even if its hard to access those services, or they aren't as good in her area, its a better option than carrying on alone isn't it?

What she's doing now isn't working, so something different needs to happen.

Kids fight regardless? How many of us can actally say we havnt hit a sibling?

    Oh dear.

I'd say hardly any of us have ever punched a sibling in the stomach like this. Most sibling 'fights' don't involve any real violence, do they? Just handbags at dawn and play fighting.

So, other than losing his lappy and getting a severe earchewing what would be a reasonable punishment? This is the first time he has ever done anything out of normal 'sibling squabbling' to the 10 y/o.

The main thing I would want is for him to understand that the behaviour was inappropriate, it is not to be repeated and an apology is required.

I apologise if my comment upset you, I am genuinely very sorry, but don't worry, I don't expect an apology for your name calling over my lack of psychic powers.

But she has said camhs aren't helping despite repeated referrals. They didn't help my DD1 either (also several referrals) and pp and I are in different counties so its not just a local problem.

And even a camhs appointment isn't going to magically make his aggression disappear.

  • Perhaps you should show him, by your example, consideration and empathy to others?

Such as not swearing at people or near people, for the pleasure of seeing it upset them?

    Oh... wait....

    never mind.
