Hi all again,
post just been, got a statement from HELIFAX CC payment on from CCCs, no interest or charges. :j Not heard anything from HELIFAX loan though, and still adding interest and charges to our OD.
Gemmzie I would just call CCCs and explain what happened. Have you canceled your DD to mint???
P.S. Sorry said CCCs, I dont know who you are with or if you are doing a DIY DMP.0 -
Morning all, well Im still in limbo, nothing happening, but cant wait to get the dmp plan set up fully with CCCS. Havent missed any payemnts yet but no long until I miss my first bills, I have sent off the CCCS notice of DMP to all but this was a week ago and had no calls about it from anyone yet. On the bills which are due this month so u think I am best of calling them and making my £1 token payment or wait until they contact me ??? Just wondering whats best.
Today, Ive opened up a new account with Lloyds and got a debit card before my credit file gets oblitereated in the next few months, god Ive worked so hard (Years) to keep my file spotless and its going to be trashed in weeks
Does anyone know at what point the companys will default my accounts or do they just mark as AP Arrangement to PAy ? Also for how long will you still receive statements from my accounts or do they stop sending them you?
Just that all these things are on my mind and if I have an idea then I can forget about it
By the way, what pushed my debt over the edge was 2 reasons, 1) my wife left me 2) The CSA contacted me within a few weeks and they take priority and dont care what other credit commitments you have, I had insurance for redundancy , death, critical illness but dont think you can get one against your wife leaving and the csa hammering you lol
Thanks
ps: I will no doubt be on here for more advice when things start to get moving.
But I do feel a lot better that I ve got somewhere to chat and get things off my chest and also get some good advise off people in similar situationsDmp Mutual Support thread member No 820 -
Scottishmummy, just noticed on your other thread that you live in Dundee area. My mum was from there and I have happy memories of many holidays in Dundee. Have since re visited and have had a holiday in a caravan at St CYrus near Montrose a few yrs ago. My wife has relatives at Aberfeldy too.

Have just copied and pasted my last post from my SOA threadHave just come off the phone to CCCS and all is not lost yet. Have to send proof of reduction in income (copy of tax credits form) as the creditors are cracking down on those who want to reduce payments apparently. Would then need to be able to find £70 minimum to be able to carry on with the dmp. I think we can do that. The person I spoke to has really helped put my mind at ease for the time-being. We haven't changed any of the details yet until they have the proof of income then we will discuss what to do next.
I have also finally got around to charging my camera so will go and lookout some stuff to post on ebay. Want to try and sell what I can on ebay then do a carboot sale with what is left. Would really like to try and cut down on our gas and electricity usage. We are on a fixed rate to 2010 so don't want to change suppliers but if we could just get our everyday usage down that would help. We haven't had the heating on for ages so no reductions to be made there. I'm going to start using a timer for the shower. I love having a shower and could quite easily stay in there for half an hour or more although I don't actually stay in there for more than 10 minutes usually. The kids will have to start sharing a bath at night. Believe me that will work out cheaper and use less water than letting them have showers as DS has a habit of putting the plug in the bath while he is showering and if I don't notice that he is still in there by the time I go through to stop him the bath will be fuller than if I have run a bath. Not a DFW way of filling the bath.
I'm off to have leftovers for lunch with my DD then a look at the os board for more meal ideas. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hi Dr Jekyll
I'm in Fife so have to travel over the Taybridge to get to Dundee but as I live out in the middle of nowhere it is actually quicker to get to Dundee than the closer Fife cities like Glenrothes. Cupar is closer but a nightmare to drive in as the streets are narrow for the amount of cars that drive on them not to mention the amount of roadworks there always seems to be in Cupar. Mind you now a bigger Lidls has opened I do find myself there more often but generally as my bank is in Dundee and DH works there we tend to go there for most things. TBH I don't find a holiday in Dundee very appealling though although I am sure staying with family helps. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hi all
xgingerx...I am in a similar position to you. I am waiting for CCCS to contact my creditors and what their decision is. Plan to start DMP payment in July.
I have missed a couple of payments on each of my loans but have not yet got a default. My creditors both phoned me constantly (for a while I ignored them which was daft) and I explained what I was doing and agreed with them that I would make payments until DMP in place. I also wrote to them to explain with payments, and sent them the CCCS DMP notice.
They have both been helpful (so far) and I think this may be partly down to keeping them in the loop on whats going on, and making the payments.
Argos agreed to £50 a month until DMP and have not heard from them for a few weeks now.
Barclays asked me to make payments which I have done. Was lucky to get a load of bank charges back which I used to make quite a big payment on the loan. They have called me every 2 weeks for last month or so to find out latest position but I think they now expect to hear from CCCS.
Totally agree with your last comment about this message board. The people on here are great and its a top source for info, advice and experience.
Sorry to hear the reasons for your position. Mine is a combination of reasons but student debts, relationship break up, house sale / purchase collapse and family problem all added up to my current position.0 -
Hi Everyone:D
Hope you are all well
Congratulations on your stars YMand SEA:T :T :T :j :j :T :T :T
Scottishmummy - Hope you are feeling better today.
amani - Great news about Hellifax:T :T
Gemmzie - I would ring them and explain what has happenned. Good Luck!
Valley's Girl - Hope you are well.
YM - Good to see you are keeping us on top. Keep Up The Good Work!:T :T
xgingerx -Defaults are standard practise and are usually issued after your normal contractual payments are missed for three months. They are nothing to worry about and simply mean that the creditor is then able to sell the debt to a debt collecting agency. I this happens just let CCCS know and they will pay the DCA the amount instead of the original creditor.
I would post all your token payments to your creditors along with the forms from CCCS that are sent for you to copy and send informing them you are starting a DMP with CCCS. Also included with the forms and token payments include a letter stating that you only wish to be contacted in writing. Send all letters and payments recorded delivery as they often say they haven't received things. If you make your token payments by cheque and send recorded delivery you will be able to tell if they have been received.
Dr J - Great that you have had some acceptances today. Feels good doesn't it!!!:T
Take Care everyone else hope you are all well and not too stressed today.

Hi all
Just entered into a DMP but I have a joint account with my wife. The DMP is for my debt only and our current joint bank account is Lloyds and there are 2 debts with Lloyds in my name. Will I have to open another account as my wifes and my wage are paid into the account or can my wife still use that account even though the debts not in her name? Or should I still use the account? HHHeeeeeellllppppppppp! Advice needed.

Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread. My husband and I are considering a DMP and are awaiting the first lot of paperwork to come through, whilst we wait we have a few concerns that are putting us off the DMP. We have tried to ask the CCCS but our consellor is off at the moment so can't ask, if you guys know that would be great.
We are most concerned about our mortgage. We have a together mortgage with Northern Rock, which means we have a mortgage, plus a £30k unsecured loan at the same rate as our mortgage. We have included all our unsecured debt (which amounts to £70k) in the info we gave CCCS but we are concerned about that loan, the reason is because the account number is the same as our mortgage because they are grouped together and because we have one payment that comes out of our account that includes both the mortgage and the unsecured loan, they are not separated at all, even in the paperwork, it says the total amount not the two amounts separately, so we are worried that our mortgage will be in jeopardy if northern rock have to separate the two so that we can underpay on one (loan) and pay the full amount on the other (mortgage). Does anyone know if that is going to be a problem?
The second thing that concerns me a little although it won't be a problem right now is that when we come to remortgage, at the end of our fixed rate term in 2 years the interest rate will shoot up the the standard variable rate, and if we have loads of defaults on our file it is going to be difficult, if not impossible to remortgage at a reasonable rate, and if we can't get a decent rate wouldn't that take us right back to square one and actually make us worse off than if we didn't do the DMP? Anyone know?
Thank you so much
If the DMP goes ahead and works out then I will likely be a regular on this board as you guys seem to helpful and supportive and I need that, I am freaking and worried already, I have never missed a payment before!
Thanks
