I am thinking that and its a good thing in a way.

I think if someone had done that to me it certainly would have made me grasp the situation much quicker and probably owe less today.

I think I am getting very sad I find finance and politics news very interesting these days. Maybe its just old age!
  • I agree, think it is a good thing. I too probably wouldn't have been in this mess now if they had all done as Debenhams did to me and decreased my limit. Not saying it is anyones fault but mine but had it not been there then might have been a different story. However, I think the financial industry as a whole is learning too and maybe they can get it under control effectively for new customers and not lend beyone peoples means.

Quick question, we sent a creditor a list of income and expenditure, but they are saying that they can't accept it without a signature - is this right? Are we better off phoning them as confirmation or writing another letter and signing it?

Not sure I know the national debt helpline template budget sheet has a signature box, so maybe you do need it.

I personally would post them another signed companies in my book aren't worth talking to but that is your choice.
  • I bank with the one account at the moment but am moving soon as RBOS are one of my main creditiors, anyway the other day I cancelled one of my Direct Debits to HFC having been told to by my DMP.
So I did it online and told them that I would send written confirmation as soon as possible but please DONT go taking out any money due to HFC as I will go overdrawn and incur bank charges, checks into my account nice email off them saying can`t do it as the other bank is entitled to the money!!!
So I`ve just had a blazing row with them on the phone over the Direct Debit Guarantee which states that your entitled to CANCEL AT ANY TIME and IT`S MY MONEY,tough you`ll have to take it up with HFC.

Thanks for nowt RBOS so glad your being binned.
