id check with great uni to make sure cos im sure they are under shop direct as well.
i spoke to someone high up in m/w and she refunded all my charges and then the dmp payments all turned up on my m/w statement the month after, mysteriously.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

Hmmm you lot have me thinking, why am I being so thick! I think I will request a signed copy of my agreement that way the DCA can no longer hassle me about missing payments and I save myself a fiver requesting copies of cheques!

How the hell could I be so dumb not to work that out myself!

Doh of the day to me!

Thanks. That doesn't sound good though - sounds like the money may have gone to the wrong place  Trouble is GU won't talk to me in case it causes me stress  I got really bolshy (sp?) and told em it was my money and I wanted to know what they'd done with it!! They said someone would ring me back... that was nearly 2 weeks ago. I've written to General Credit saying oi what's going on and give me a statement now - but no reply

When I rang in August the first person said the don't know who General Credit are and no they haven't had any payments. I rang back and they said yes they have had payments and could see the last 3. Unfortunately I can't find record of their name and now GU are implying that I have no evidence of who saw these payments and CCCS didn't pay them between May and October

    Hi Ray,

I've just posted a CCA request to the DCA bothering me. Wish I'd known about it earlier! If it turns out they don't have a valid CCA I'll kick myself, cos I've already paid half of what's outstanding to them!

    Hello all,

Looks, like we're all plodding along with our DFD, it nice to read you're all doing well. No letters/phone calls 5 months into DMP and all interest frozen for next 12 months with all of my 8 creditors. Will be having 6 months review next month and can up payment (pay rise) so bring DFD to 4 years 8 months...Yieep can't wait, that is, if all creditors continue to stop interest etc. Keep well all.

    love mm2x

Does anyone have an address for Great Universal? Don't have a catalogue anymore and can't find any postal address online or on their statements, other than the Registered Office

Feeling that they will be getting a stinky letter soon ;)

    Hello all

Have any of you got Payment or life protection on your DMP's? I got it through Payplan but just worrying this may not be a wise move?

Hmm I am on my own DMP so no nothing like that.

    But breaking it done logically...

    a) if you die the debt dies no one has to pay your debt unless its a joint name
    b) if you were to loose your job then you would contact your creditors tell them and offer them a pound
    c) if you were long time sick the same as b

So its still your call but I would prefer whatever it was to go on something of use or even stick it in savings for your own insurance!

    thanks rayday:T

Yes i guess your right....... wasnt sure if the next of kin would pay the debt though ie my parents if I died?

we looked into that as my hubbys MIL is terrible with money and will die with a lot of debt we wanted to check out our position so we did not end up with it. Sounds a bit cold but she lives with his sister and she has benefitted from all the spending and yet does not even pay board at the grand age of 32!

Anyway less of my dramas, turns out a company can ask people to pay but not even the person in charge of the estate is liable. Companies do try it out but can't persue it legally. Obviously a joint name will go to the other person but an additional card holder is not a joint name!
