Hi Onamission
I think I was posting at the same time as you.
Just remember that feeling of how good you will feel once it is done and you know that you have pushed yourself a little further to managing and eventually clearing your debt.
I officially give you a giant kick up the ...... (and then a big hug just in case it hurt!)

Hi all
Hope everyone is well.
Dreamer...any idea why Barclays loan did not accept? What happened about them?
I last spoke to Barclays 2 weeks ago and they gave me 2 weeks from 29th May for CCCS to get in touch. They should be getting in touch this week.
Have had a couple of missed calls this morning that think are Barclays but am at work so wasn't able to answer.
Am worried about Barclays as have loan with them that have missed payments on and have most of the 25k still outstanding. Also have overdrawn current account with Barclays that have had to use this month and had to pay out for some unforseen expenses eg emergency DIY and bloody expensive boiler repair. :-(
Got new current account now and moved my stuff to that now so shouldn't have to use Barclays current account again.
Am waiting to hear from CCCS about contact with my creditors.
Worried this week about Argos and Barclays not accepting0 -

Im in no mans land at the moment and feel like its the lul before the storm, most my bills are due around the 22nd June and this is going to be when I offer a token payment before my CCCS DMP Plan kicks in in July.
I am very nervous about it and it is playing on my mind, I know to expect letters and calls but will be glad when its all set up and hopefully then can start to plan and look forward and know at least although a mountain of debt at 32k I will be clearing £450 / month so at least it will start to come down
xgingerx...well summed up. This is exactly how I feel although have made my June token payments to my 2 creditors. My mountain is a bit higher, and am offering £350 to start with. Getting payrise from next month though, so this will go up quickly.0 -
Pompey Mark Barclays didn't accept because it would take too long to repay. CCCS did explain that when my son starts school in 18 months time I would be returning to work fulltime so my payments would increase and therefore decrease length of time to repay but wrote back stating they were transferring debt to a DCA who would probably accept reduced payments. Haven't heard from DCA regarding this as yet. They also said I would need to close any a/c's I have with Barclays as they no longer wants any financial connections with me. I had already opened another a/c with Halifax so not a problem. They haven't shut a/cs as yet. Don't really know what's happening at the moment.Make £10 a day challenge: November - £0/£3000

Hi everyone
Haven't been on here for ages - don't know when I last posted but haven't read any of the posts since page 27 so sorry if I have missed any important messages. Congrats to YM and Sea for the stars.
Well I am on a downer today. As well as suffering flu for the last four days I actually got up out of my bed this morning to find a letter from Firstplus with a Default notice. I thought they had defaulted us three years ago when we started on our dmp but no and they have continued to add interest but as we have received no statements from them we didn't know. The original loan was only for £1000 and we had made about 6 months of pyments before going on the dmp but they reckon that if we only continue to pay what we have been paying we still owe them over £4000:eek:  . I rang them to ask for a breakdown of the balance and all he kept saying was it was the interest that would accumulate on the debt??? After thinking about it for a wee while I tried phoning back to ask for a statement but it is engaged now. - Ok just tried again and got a really snotty cow who wanted to ask double the amount of security questions than the last guy asked. I refused other than name and address and said that all I was wanting was a statement sent out which as it would be sent out to the address on their record they should be able to do. So a statement of these charges should be with me soon.
Still haven't started my job as still waiting on the enhanced disclosure:mad: There are only 3 weeks of school left so it doesn't look like I'll actually start at all. I had also been trying to get jobseekers allowance because I was looking for work again but apparently I wasn't paying the correct NI contributions while I was self-employed:mad:   I paid Class 2 and Class 4 contributions but it is Class 1 that counts - what the f*@!Why do they not tell you this before spending hours filling out forms and spending money on parking and bridgetolls which I would not have spent if I had not needed to go see them.!!!
It looks like I'll need to get in touch with CCCS and reduce my monthly payment to them but I am dreading doing that as at this moment in time DH's money is not good so it looks like we have less than we are paying out but at other times it is better. On the good side I have managed to reduce house and car insurance, just a shame the increase in mortgage, council tax and gas payments more than cancels that out. Oh and to top it all I had my DD's feet measured on Saturday. She now measures at a C fitting. The woman in Clarks just looked at me blankly and said I would be lucky to find a child's E fitting never mind as thin as a C so it looks like yet another costly visit to a specialist shoe shop. Anyone know of any good internet ones?

Thanks Dreamer. Useful info.
Just took a call from Barclays and they were suprisingly friendly and helpful.
Explained had made a good size payment on loan last week, and bloke seemed happy with that and just wants to hear from CCCS asap.
Also said that as I had not gone over the OD limit that I could still use my current account until the DMP is sorted which I thought was a bit odd.
Sounds silly, but I think I would have drowned with all this if had not found this forum. You lot are fantastic!0
