Thanks for your advice and reassurance, I suppose what I dont have they cant have but I do feel like its my fault im in this mess and at the end of the day I did borrow the money and spend it,
Maybe I just feel guilty and a bit stupid getting in over my head,
It just crept up from nowhere and before I knew it I was only just managing to make my minimum payments and worked out it would be 20 years till I paid everyone off, scary I know !!
The worst feeling of all is seeing what I owe and thinking Ive got absolutely nothing material to show for it.
Anyway, think this website is a godsend and full of advice from good people who have actually been there.
So Thanks to all
I know exactly how you feel. I have no mortgage, no designer clothes, no fancy stereo or ipod, no diamonds or pearls, no flash car (in fact no car as it failed it's MOT and went for scrap - it was 18 years old).
I've had a few holidays, bought some CD's, eaten out far too much and so have very little to actually show for my huge debt. It crept up to me too.
Without this website we wouldn't be able to afford food as we were spending far too much and it was all going on credit cards. Everyone here helped me cut down on food shopping, cut some bills and then go to CCCS about a DMP. I just wish I'd done it years ago - before the 3rd consolidation loan, let alone the 4th!!!
But now, I'm dealing with it instead of hiding from it and they are all getting some payment and I have learned my lesson that my friendly Mr Visa didn't end up so friendly after all when they increased all the APR!! :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
thanks newleywed
i do think it is a case of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing with most creditors.
Yes. My only post yesterday was.... the catalogue informing me they have increased my credit limit to 2.5k - they are one of my creditors on my DMP :rotfl:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

well done toasti.
I found it best to answer when you were sure you were in a firm mood (or annoyed mood to argue back)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Thank you. Yes I though I would wait til I had as much as I could take and then ring them back.
They said I would not be contacted by phoone again after I told them a couple of times not to lol.
Thanks for all the advice :beer:0 -

Well. I have just spent this afternnon mopping floors and getting my Garlic mushrooms ready for tea.
This may surprise you as i am on a DMP but i have also been polishing my DD's riding boots ready for their first horse show on Sunday. My OH has always had a horse and this is something that I have nothing to do with. Her mother pays for everything and the girls really enjoy riding their horse. When I say horse it is really a shetland 10.2 pony. My OH has always been active with her riding and has at one time qualified for Olympia and has even jumped at Hickstead. Dont really know why I have said this but I do not want you to think I am loaded because I am not (As you all know). I will let you all know how they get on Sunday as it is a fancy dress and they are really looking forward to it.
Got to go now and press Jodphurs and show shirts. God I am a new age man:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Enjoy the day

Hope you all have a fab time at the horse show YM - I don't think it's strange that your family should still have hobbies just because you're on a DMP! I don't think life and enjoyment of life should stop because of debt, we just need to cut back in certain areas to allow for the fun in others.
The garlic mushrooms sound heavenly
Toasti - well done on the HSBC, they rang me again today when i was at the library but I told them I was busy and they said, ok, we'll ring later.

How true. I have not played Golf for ages thinking about it.
