YM - I remember working nights, I used to work at a Travelodge as Night Duty Manager - all title no pay! Bloody exhausting being in a building knowing everyone is either sleeping or erm enjoying themselves ;)

I had missed about two months payments and they hadn't took any from our account but before the letters went out offering lower payments we were safely in our new bank account.

Is the bank account in joint names? If it is and the debt is in your wifes name then in theory they could. I don't mean to worry you or panic you and time is definately on your side but if you can get another account do and then its a worry you never have to think about.

Sorry I can't help anymore - but on the plus side after months of making out they never receive letters Lloyds do accept and suspend interest. I have had a grey solicitors letter from them - that was just a scam they went from that to accepting. You do get a lot of computer generated letters from them that bare no resemblance to letters you send out. Just giving you the heads up and hoping your mind is at rest now you know all there scams. Oh and if they drag there feet along time make a formal complaint you get interest back and free wine - see its not all bad ;)

The account is a joint account but I took a Lloyds TSB loan out with them in my name and I also had a Lloyds TSB Credit Card in my name. My wife is not named on either of these debts. I was going to open a new bank account but still get my wifes money paid into the Lloyds as we have such things as the electric, gas, mortgage, car insurance, house insurance coming out of that account.

Thanks rayday that information as helped me to understand. Lloyds are currently stalling telephone calls (they said) about my arrears until they have received the letters from CSSC who say they have sent them. I owe to Lloyds TSB for a loan and credit card, Egg for a credit card and Littlewoods catalogue. I do feel 100 times better now I have managed to sort some of the mess out and we can start living again (hopefully). I never thought I would get myself into so much debt but it's easy done as everyone on the thread will relate to I'm sure.

I'm glad I can offload some questions on here to people who are already 'well' into their DMP's and I really appreciate everyones advice.

    Morning everyone.

Good news - have a car!! It's got a bit of a blowing exhaust but has MOT, tax, half a tank of petrol and the body seems in pretty good condition. But should still save money compared to bus and taxi fares even after spending out on a new exhaust and all the hoovering it needs inside. Didn't get a mechanic check it over so fingers crossed it's not a chocolate teapot!!!

Yeah I know. Wednesday I got talking into taking a day off work to help OH do a job which included tidying a garden. So spent the day sorting out someone else's garden - unpaid (although OH was being paid).

Yesterday was busy and then we went to see a car. On top of that OH's ex has been causing hassle. So she's off on one again

So it's been a busy week!! :rotfl: Nothing to report on the DMP though - still no phone calls or letters - all rather too quiet and going too well on that side - which is why I'm half expecting this car to fall apart tomorrow (sounds a bit boy racer when you accelerate at the moment) :o
